Grupotel Amapola

Food was so good. I could choose what i wanted. Before i went to Mallorka I thought that the swimming pool is small, but every day there was a lot of space inside and outside the pool. Very clean hotel. The workers also were so friendly and clever.

We booked a last minute break, normally we opt for 5* for our annual holiday. However, as this year we were able to squeeze in a second holiday I looked at other star ratings too, to try and keep the cost down a bit. This wasn't what I would consider a really "cheap week" at nearly £2000 however, I appreciate that it was peak season. Having looked at 4* options, the Amapola had better reviews than a lot of the 4* counterparts for around the same price. So we decided to take a chance and go with 3* Amapola. This is an honest review with positive and negative points from our recent stay. In many ways, this is better than a 3*. However is let down and pulled back to 3* by a couple of things that could be easily changed (in my opinion). It is a small hotel, with a small pool. However the outside area is bigger than you initially think with areas around the Tennis Court and looking at the lake. It is very clean. Everywhere is kept spotless both inside and outside. There was someone power washing all the pool area every morning as well as cleaners keeping inside and toilets clean throughout the day and evening. Staff were friendly and drinks were decent. Cocktails were mainly pre-mixed on the AI package, but they were much better than expected! The spirits were good quality and the vodka we were served was Smirnoff. Food was pretty good and plenty of freshly cooked (while you waited) options at all meal times as well as the buffet options. The cakes/pastries at breakfast were really impressive! Breads etc all freshly baked in the morning. The salad bar was always bothered by little black flies. Particularly the grated carrot!! It put me off using it to be honest so avoided. As a veggie this generally makes up a good percentage of what I’d eat so was disappointed with that. Sun loungers were really good. Looked brand new and plenty of them. Never an issue finding one. Our room (314) was small but spotless and the bathroom was very nice, clean and modern. The beds in the room were terrible! Very uncomfortable. Felt very cheap mattress quality. And they were single beds pushed together, which by morning had drifted apart. There was only one thin pillow provided on the beds, however we asked at reception if we could have extra pillows and a second was sent up straightaway without any issue, which did help. There were duvet's in the wardrobe for if you wanted more than a sheet. The aircon was really old, was fixed wall vents which were off to one side of the room and you couldn't change the direction of the vents so one bed got blasted with the draft when in use. However it did work and did keep the room nice a cool. The walls/ceilings did seem quite thin as there was a lot of noise that could be heard from other rooms. Just general noise, nobody was being rowdy. You could hear voices, moving chairs etc. I could even hear someone snoring in another room close by! Water wasn’t provided in the rooms as part of the AI pac

Really good Hotel. Staff very friendly. Cleanliness couldn’t fault. Choice of food Excellent! Now the negatives : Hot Food “isn’t Hot”. ONLY WARM !😩 Bacon sausages eggs all need to be “HOT” So disappointed ! Pillows are a little disappointing too. Only 1 in the rooms ! Apart from this everything was perfect.

This is quite possibly the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in! Even the pool toilets were spotless. The food was great, lots of choice & hotter than normal buffets. Everyone was pleasant and helpful, dining room staff were lovely as was the bar staff. The mosquitos were a bit of a problem but it was everywhere, not just round the hotel, so even if you don’t normally get bitten, like me, use some repellent because they made a meal out of me. The only downside wasn’t anything to do with the hotel but the place. The walk to the beach wasn’t too bad, 10 minutes short stroll, if that. But there was no real ‘centre’ or any sort of prom to have a walk at night. Other than that it was a great holiday, the weather was nothing to do with the hotel, but it was cloudy a lot & the wind was cold, just like home! Ignore the miseries who find fault, it’s a great hotel!

The food is amazing and with good variety. Really nice, calm and clean hotel. Good for couples, families or friends. The view to the lake is also different. Very good location, near from the beach and restaurants in a walking distance. Really nice staff.

Positive: The location was good. The food was delicious. The staff was kind. The room cleaning was good. There was a lot of parking. The swimming pool was refreshing. It has a beautiful location. Much choice in drinks. There was minigolf, tennis, animation in the evening. Negative: The bed was a little bit too hard. We had to pay for our drinks with our dinner because we had half pension. It is also a very loud hotel. The bar is closed at 23:45 so everyone comes to the room and be slamming the door (not the fault of the hotel). I slept from 00:30am till 6:30am everyday because of the noise. People put their towels on the chairs at the pools in the morning. Sometimes there was no chair available because of that. You should take the towels away and but them at the bali. The rule is "no towels before 10:00!"

Really impressed with the hotel which is definitely closer to 4 stars than 3stars. Lovely location on a beautiful lake with nice views. Check in was quick, efficient, very friendly lady on reception. Our room is very clean, a bit dated but perfectly adequate, nice balcony size, good walk in shower. Hate the glass bathroom door, if you go in the middle of the night and put the light on, the whole room lights up! Food is excellent- way better than some 4 star hotels we’ve been to. Maybe less variety, but what is there is excellent quality, hot and well stocked, always meat, fish, veg, salads, pasta, pizza - surely something for everyone. Good all inclusive drinks options, I only drink wine, and that was really good for an all inclusive, best I’ve had in ages on holiday. Grounds are nice, pool isn’t very big but nor is the hotel, no issues getting a sun bed , and the area has a relaxed vibe about it …. Except for the music around the pool which whilst not over loud, is absolutely terrible and surely not appropriate to the clientele- it really does need sorting out- if I’d wanted Ibiza closing party, I’d have gone there!!! All of the staff are fantastic, so friendly and efficient, all in all for the price it’s been great value and we’d come again - location is 5 mins from bars, restaurants and the beach ( which is lovely) - just be aware of the mozzies at night!!!! I never get bitten and have been eaten alive!

I was in Amapola and i loved everything. The hotel, the staff, the food, everything so clean, everyone so kind, it was really a good surprise . For sure I would rate the hotel with 4 stars, why just 3? I really recommend and I would like to come back 😊
