Taxia Shouwang Inn Reviews

We stayed there for 2 days. The place is very cozy and authentic. The landlord was very kind and helpful. She helped us to arrange a driver to get around the villages and treated us with a local tea that was very tasty. Also there lives a very cute and playful cat))) if you are not a tea lover you can order a cup of delicious coffee there. There is a good restaurant nearby where you can have a meal. We highly recommend this place.

Taxia village is a perhaps the nicest spot to stay while visiting Tianluokeng scenic area, if you want to be in authentic environment and not give up comfort. The atmosphere in this guesthouse is very nice. Rooms are clean and even though our room was small it was very cosy and the bed was comfortable. We are two vegetarians, so we were happy that the restaurants around the guesthouse had some vegetarian options. The hostess is very nice too. I recommend staying here.

Amazing experience. Manager helped make everything perfect. Hotel courtyard by night is gorgeous. Stone street outside lining narrow river is full of rushing waterfalls and magical at sunset, and after dark. Make sure to eat in hotel restaurant—sitting in the tea shop is best. Delicious tofu, eggplant, and potato “silk” dishes. Best of all is the cauliflower! Also, iced passion fruit-lime juice…I drank two glasses after every run. Manager also will serve endless cups of tea from her father’s tea farm up the mountain. As local as local gets here. Hekang village only 4-5 km down mountain road, while it’s about 8km up to a famous tulou village. But tulous are everywhere around, including several inside Taxia. Unbelievable place. 3 nights should be the absolute minimum stay. Oh, and the cats are friendly and at least one wants to meet you!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Taxia Shouwang. Xiao Fang was the most delightful host. She was very communicative in helping us get to Nanjing from the train station and later helped us arrange a driver to see the 土楼 on both days of our stay. The Inn is inviting, clean and conveniently located. The tea her father makes is delicious as are the two neighboring restaurants which serve traditional Chinese cuisine. We would surely return to stay here on our next visit to see the TuLous.

We loved the Shouwang Inn – it has all the charms of an old historic building without lacking the comforts of a hotel. In addition, the décor is very tasteful in a mixture of traditional furniture, creative art work and retro elements.  小芳 spoiled us with tea grown by her father. She is a lovely person, who helped us fulfil all our wishes with the utmost competence and went above and beyond trying to understand our limited Chinese. Our daughter of two years loved it there too, exploring the common areas, testing the limits of the rocking horse and becoming fast friends with the two cats. We most warmly recommend this place and we will surely stay there again.

Quiet and clean. There are restaurants and small supermarkets next to the inn, which is very convenient. The boss Xiaofang is gentle and beautiful. I will choose to keep watch next time I come here.

A very cultural and ancient courtyard. Thank you to the boss for the cold rabbit. The taste is very good, and there is a very beautiful river right at the door. We set off fireworks by the river all night, and the children had a lot of fun. By the way, the boss is a beautiful woman and single. 

Stealing a Half-Day Leisure X2, it is a B&B with original ecology, suitable for being in a daze, chatting, drinking tea, petting cats... It is rare to sleep until dawn. A very relaxing weekend, only a cup of Long Island iced tea🤓

Facilities: The facilities are complete and the air conditioning and refrigeration are very powerful. Hygiene: clean and hygienic, fresh air Environment: The environment is really unique. The 200-year-old old courtyard is very attractive. The layout is carefully designed and the photos are very photogenic. It is even more interesting when it rains. Service: Gentle and attentive service I recommend everyone to stay at Shouwang Inn when coming to Tulou. I would like to stay there again next time.

There are only five guest rooms in the store, which are very warmly decorated and fit the temperament of the beautiful proprietress. Next to the B&B is the Xiaoqiao Liushui Restaurant. The restaurant's dishes are very homely, the prices are very reasonable, and the taste is good, which is also surprising. I have to say that the disadvantage is that there are too few parking spaces. It is not easy to park during the peak season.

Living in a tulou is a bit difficult, but the boss is nice

It can be said that one of the big reasons for checking in at Taxia Village is to check in at this Shouwang Inn. After reading all the reviews of its home with pictures, the Wenyi Faner Inn, which was rebuilt from a 200-year-old earthen building, is located on the stone bridge and flowing water as soon as it enters the village. On the side, with the theme of the movie Big Fish and Begonia, each of the few rooms is named after an elegant sentence in the Book of Songs. The earthen building is full of flowers and plants, and there are two cats. There is freshly brewed coffee and fresh tea, and "Big Fish and Begonia" is projected and played in the courtyard of the middle hall of the Tulou every night. The layout of the room is simple and attentive, clean and hygienic. The owner, Xiaofang, is warm, thoughtful and considerate. We traveled from Yunshuiyao to Tianluokeng. She recommended us to rent a car. She is very reliable and the price is very reasonable. I asked her to take photos, and she helped me out one by one. I bought the tea and wine made by her family, and I felt that trusting this person meant trusting the things she sold. The only uncomfortable thing is that the air conditioner in the room is not heating. I turned on the heating when I checked in before noon. I wanted to go back to rest at night and the children would not be cold, but the room was frozen until after 11 o'clock in the evening. I couldn't bear to bury my head in it. Under the quilt, the child slept in a separate bed with me, but couldn't stand the cold and shared the quilt with me. In the middle of the night, the power switch tripped twice because of the overload of the August Weiyang family room. The next day, Xiaofang apologized and said that the inn's circuit needs to be repaired and updated, but in the damp and cold environment of only four to five degrees at night, it is just necessary for the air conditioner to work well. I hope it can be updated as soon as possible, and I have the opportunity to choose to stay again in summer to see fireflies.

The room is a bit cramped, but it's acceptable because it's in a scenic spot. There is no TV in the room, and my son was a little unhappy, but there are TVs and projections in the public area, which barely met his requirements. When he finally left, he actually said that he would stay in this inn next time😄 Cross a small bridge opposite the inn and walk a few tens of meters to "Deyuan Hall". Walk to "Firefly Dream Valley" for about half an hour. Walking along the small river in front of the inn, you can walk to the "Tulou Pavilion" (I don't remember if it is the name, but it is the last three pictures below). The inn provides breakfast for each guest (Ctrip seems to say that breakfast is not included), and the dining place is next to the "Xiaoqiao Liushui" restaurant. There are soup noodles/noodles and sweet potato porridge to choose from. This restaurant is quite cost-effective, except In addition to breakfast, we went to dinner once, which was very good. The Shouwang Inn itself also serves meals, and the products are also very good. The proprietress of the inn can patiently answer all kinds of questions. Thumbs up!
