Was ok the room. Tiny bit out dated but not bad to stay for one night. Staff was helpful.

We had an Ant Infestation in our room through the patio door and skirting boards which was a unwelcome surprise when my partner and I returned to our room, when this was raised with reception they were flippant and said what do you expect me to do about it and when my partner went to spoke to the manager in the morning he was told that the infestation was caused by the grass behind the hotel being cut which disturbs the Ant nests that are in the field and it’s not the first time an ant problem had been mentioned to them and told my partner there was nothing they could do at that time and to just contact guest relations which for a nationwide hotel chain is poor

Comfortable clean room. Nice and quiet. Good night’s sleep. Plenty of space in the Car park. Handy for local sightseeing.

Building and bedroom facilities looking very tired, though bathroom ok. Hot breakfast very disappointing. Location good just off m4. Enough free parking. Pub on site did a nice meal. In summary, unfortunately would not stay here again based on this experience.

We ate in the Ship Inn Restaurant before a concert of Sea Shanties. The Ship is very historic with a rustic a**osphere. The service was friendly and helpful and my husband said the pork belly was the best he's tasted in a long time. So well done to the chef and Liz and Jacob!

i stay here on a regular basis, or did, they used to have their breakfast catered for by the The Ship Inn and then built there own breakfast room, 1st experience ok, basic but OK, this time, awful, food was under the lamps too long and was dried up, it needed replenishing. when i did decide to try a breakfast, found the food was cold. bread was stale for the toast. and considering they have increased the price of their breakfasts it should have been better

From the outside, the hotel looks ropey…..I bit like a seedy American motel. The man on reception was really nice and check in was quick and easy. The corridors on the way to our room could’ve done with hoovering. When entering the room, all seemed ok. When taking a closer look, surfaces appeared grubby, carpet needed hoovering and the tea and coffee tray was dusty. We had to move my son’s bed a little and there was some rubbish underneath. Not impressed as we paid £130 for the night (room only, no breakfast) The spare pillows weren’t in a sealed bag so could use. Bathroom was tiny and run down. Gave 3 stars as location is good and staff we’re friendly but won’t recommend or return
