Our room was dirty when we got there at 9:30pm to checkin. Crumbs and overall detritus all over the floor, bugs in the bathtub, old food in the sink, a dead bug on the bed, and a long hair under the sheets. My daughter sat on the bed and it tipped over on her. Rather than put us in a clean, functioning room, we had to wait almost an hour for maintenance and housecleaning to come clean and fix the bed. Finally around 12:00AM the housekeeper was finished cleaning the room. Mind you, we have 3 kids ranging from 2-9 that couldn’t sleep until after midnight.
The next day guests stuck trash in the hallway and it sat there the entire day before it was picked up. Housecleaning came and took away our towels and didn’t replenish them entirely, so we were short a couple towels. We were at this hotel for an event across the street at the Marriott and requested a late checkout. As an IHG member, one fantastic benefit is a late checkout of 2:00. No one at this facility knew or would acknowledge that. The girl on the phone got snippy with me, told me I’d have pay $50/hour after 12:00 and while I was communicating how dissatisfied I was about my stay, she literally spoke over me, said “ok” and hung up while I was still talking.
As a family that stays in Orlando frequently, I will absolutely never stay at this hotel ever again. I am considering whether I’ll ever stay at an IHG hotel ever again too, since when I spoke with corporate they were also less than helpful.
