Sehr schönes Hotel aus den 30iger-Jahren. Freundliches, lösungsorientiertes und zuvorkommendes Personal. Top Lage. Fazit! Das Hotel empfehlen wir sehr gerne.

The Internal decor of the Thermae palace is exquisit and has a romantic charm to it. High ceilings giving rooms a spacious feel. The Bed was extremely comfortable, however sittuated rather bizare and could do with being beach facing to give that real beach view experience. We stayed in the terraced suite superior double with a balcony deck. The deck was huge with iron posts securing the perimeter. The decking loungers and surrounds could all do with restoration however was still very good. 3* could easily achieve 5+* with a few tweeks. The external structure of the building was in places tired and could do with renovation even though this was carried out in the 1990s. The building oddly enough was built in early 1930s inspired by art decor and is a real stature within Ostende. Due to wind driven rain and high exposure being on the sea front explains why parts of the building appear dilapidated and in need of regular maintenance. This historic marvel which in my opinion is the most eye catching and iconic structure within the area could easily turn in to a 5+ star hotel bringing back the original features such as the spar which attracted people from all over the world to visit it due to its naturally sourced mineral waters. Being in the building, construction and improvement industry it was sad to see such a beautifully constructed and purpose built marvel to be left without its heart and if money was no object this really could be a no1 tourist attraction. Thermae Palace gave us a sense of wow, vibrance and a burning desire to see out its true potential. It would be a privilege to be an advisor on the complete restoration if that was ever in the plans. I would highly recommend a visit here, extremely friendly staff and the food was exquisite within the restaurant. Breakfast, while expensive had a lot of variety but could be improved, again all staff lovely and highly professional. There is a sauna within the 1st floor and a very small gym again while decent the things that could be achieved here are limitless... the sauna was very reasonably priced and private which you can hire for 2 hours at a time. This was rather awesome 👌. All in all an amazing, beautiful iconic historical and delightful place to stay with fantastic food culture and fascinating art. we will be coming back as we are regular visitors with hope that one day the true potential could once again be ingnited and back to the former historic glory it once would of upheld.

Beautiful building and place in front of the sea, nice confortable room. But breakfast a little disappointing with low quality products. And the worst in this hôtel is the réception desk, very Young and inexperienced people who don’t know how to be a minimum welcoming. You feel like you are just here to pay. Too bad for such a classy place !

Old . The bathroom is of poor quality, dirty, quite insane, silicone badly set, stained, covered . Badly finished. Breakfast regular. Far too expensive for the offer. No cabinet but hanging slots. I’m had a late check out and was aggressively addressed by the housekeeper. Came the receptionist then after and had once again to deminstdate my late check out( 1h more…)

Wonderful hotel. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and very easy to maneuver for my wheelchair.

So many of the reviews talk about 'faded grandeur', 'past its best' etc that we were pleasantly surprised to find that the reality is actually quite pleasant! We had a room with sea view and terrace - even in April it was great to be lounging outside with a cuppa, breathing in the ozone and gazing out over the huge (and empty) sandy beach and the waves pounding beyond! Our room was spacious and clean, well fitted with hooks (pretty rare these days) and generous space to hang clothes, with a modern bathroom and a strong shower - though, as many have said, the carpet needed replacing (old stains). Housekeeping staff weren't too good at routinely replacing the teabags and (powdered) milk, but reception staff obliged. The breakfast was one of the best I've encountered in a hotel - terrific variety and high quality. The evening meal we had there was also very good, though it is strange that the restaurant service is contracted out, with no connection to the hotel itself (so you can't put drinks on your hotel bill, for example). It also closes early, around 10 p.m. I think the frustration with the hotel is that it could be so much better than it is. In terms of facilities, its very name suggests that a huge pool and spa complex should be available, as in the hotel's heyday - but a small fitness room and sauna is as good as it gets. There are loads of ground floor spaces for exhibitions etc - but no comfortable lounge bars with late opening. And it is criminal that the beautifully grandiose front entrance is not in use, with only unglamorous access via car parks at either side of the main building. All in all, a pleasant experience but somewhat baffling - I'd love to see the place restored to its former glories....oh dear, here we go again!

Altough it’s a beautiful hotel at the beach and they have really friendly staff working at the reception, there are still some things that needs improvement. The room had a carpet that had more stains on it than I could count, the mirror in the bedroom wasn’t cleaned and the bathtub was filthy, the sides of the tub still had soap residue from a previous visitor. The bed was very clean and comfortable though, no complaints about that but for almost 200 euros for 1 night those complaints shouldn’t be there.

This iconic hotel still exudes the charm and class of yesteryear, but it is clearly in need of renovation. The rooms are spacious and the sea view is stunning. So be sure to book a room with sea view. It is more than worth the extra cost. The breakfast is very extensive and varied; the breakfast room is extraordinary, with beautiful chandeliers, flowers and works of art. Thermae Palace is also easily accessible by public transport; there is a coastal tram stop nearby.
