GGuest UserThis was a perfect place to spend the night in Daocheng before a flight the next morning. It is only a 15 minute walk away from the White Pagoda, and there are shops and restaurants nearby. Staff were very helpful with figuring out logistics for getting to the airport and recommending activities and restaurants in the area (Make sure to have WeChat set up). One of the ladies spoke fairly good English too.
My one complaint is that the tap water seemed to have a slight brown hue to it, especially when using warm/hot water. This showed up in both the sink and shower. Thus, I did not want to use the tap water to brush my teeth or to filter for drinking, which has not been a concern of mine anywhere else in China. Because I usually use a water filter to drink the tap, I did not have extra bottled water prepared beforehand. Some is provided, but if you think you'll use/drink a lot of water (as I do, especially because of how dry it is in Daocheng), buy some extra beforehand.

GGuest UserThe hotel was very attentive; the receptionist was very welcoming and helped with our luggage. They even thoughtfully provided two gift sets: one containing an oxygen tank, an apple, a hard-boiled egg, a bag of cake, a bottle of milk, and a Snickers bar – all essential for the long trek to Yading. I hadn't even thought of the hotel's thoughtfulness. Plus, we could leave our car in the hotel parking lot the next day when entering the scenic area, which was very convenient. We originally planned to stay another night after coming down from the mountain, but unfortunately, my partner suffered severe altitude sickness on the mountain, so we changed our plans and left early.

Kkenny1I highly recommend this hotel if you are planning to visit Yading National Park. The owner is very friendly and gave good recommendations to prepare for the hike. Hence, we were very well prepared and managed to hike the entire long and short route in one day. The hotel supplies oxygen 10yuan, raincoat 10yuan and hiking pole 15yuan at a very reasonable price. The hotel is also close to eateries and a convenience store.
If you are a foreigner this place will make you feel like home. Overall a very good stay and the owner was so accommodating. We will definitely be back soon.

GGuest UserThe hotel might look old, BUT it has a grand view! The view from either my room or the rooftop is incredible! I visited in May 2026 and I can see BOTH the golden sunrise and the golden sunset from here. The hotel owner was also nice eventhough we did not talk much. Prepare your cold clothes, so you can enjoy the incredible view comfortably. PS: My room which was on the 3rd floor, was also clean eventhough they don't have elevator, so you have to use stairs if you stay here. But I would say it was an amazing stay for me.

GGuest UserThis guesthouse has a lot of ******* character, and the service is very warm and welcoming. The hallway smells really nice, and the location is great too. There's a pretty famous restaurant not far downstairs. The only downside is that the parking lot is a bit small; we ended up parking on the street.

GGuest UserThis is an exceptionally good hotel! So good that even a lazy person like me who rarely writes reviews has to give it a thumbs up. I've stayed in countless hotels all over the country, and this is truly the most comfortable and cost-effective one I've ever stayed in. The location isn't particularly hard to find, and the decor is excellent—very new and clean. The rooms are large, the beds are very comfortable, and the blankets are soft. It's quiet in a residential area, with minimal noise at night. If the entire building were converted into a hotel, it wouldn't be inferior to many five-star hotels. There's a convenience store downstairs, making shopping very convenient. The hotel owner's service attitude is also excellent (part of this review is because of his good attitude; otherwise, I'm too lazy to bother with follow-up reviews). Finally, here are a few photos taken in Yading. In short, it's an exceptionally good hotel, and a very enjoyable trip.

GGuest UserLocation is great, in the center of Riwa. There are many restaurants and shops nearby. Only 10minutes to the entrance of Yading.
Staff are helpful. They can speak a bit of English. Foreigners are accepted.
The room is ok but there is always smoking smell in the room (maybe from the room nextdoor)

PPongnarin LeelaumpikulThe sign board is in Chinese only. So, it is quite difficult for foreigner like me to get to the right building. Even my local taxi driver can not. Fortunately, the owner lady and friends are sittings at the roadside waiting for customers or passerby who looks for an accommodation.
The owner lady is very generous and servicible. She helps me carrying my big luggage from street to the homestay. She also show me how to use facilities in the room. She speaks only chinese but I can not. So, she suggest me to contact her via Wechat which I can use translation feature. In the morning before I am going to visit Yading Scenic Spot, she offers me an treking pole too. Nevertheless, Due to the early departure time of bus to Xianggelila, I figure out whether I move to stay in town for another day after finishing 3-day booking here. She asks me if I have nothing to do in town and decide to continue staying. She can provide a free pick-up to the bus station by her family car at 5.30 a.m. That is great.
The room is small and simple but tidy. Bed is firm and comfortable. It comes with electronic blanket which helps alot because it is freezing at night. Bathroom and toilet are clean. Hot water is provided all day in night. Shower pressure is strong and easy to adjust the temperature. However, bathroom and toilet are humid and difficult to dry because of the cold weather. Wifi is strong.

GGuest UserThis is probably the best hotel in Shangri-La. The rooms are clean and hygienic, and they offer a post-hike foot massage. The front desk agent, Xiaolin, was very friendly and attentive, even helping me order oxygen tanks. I absolutely had to order the medical-grade 58-yuan tank; other 20-30 yuan tanks wouldn't work. The 58-yuan tank is high-pressure pure oxygen, and a few deep puffs are incredibly effective when I have a headache. I used four tanks and it worked flawlessly. Milk Lake is 5,500 meters above sea level, a nearly 20-kilometer round trip. With only 120 tickets available per day, I only managed to avoid the 8-kilometer round trip. Unless you arrive at the scenic area by 7 a.m., you'll never get a ticket. A must-have for hiking!
