Just the standard RUI Hotel setup…unable to get a booking in any of the specialty restaurants. Buffet restaurants the same repetitive food.
Polite cleaning staff.
Reception staff need to be more customer focussed I arrived at 8pm given a keycard and a map and pointed in the direction of the room…no one to help with baggage. Requested late checkout on the RUI app had it confirmed and then I find keycard not working on the day after spending the morning by the pool headed to reception was told I should have requested this at reception…at no point in time did the app state this. I was told that the bell boy had put a note under my door..that’s ok if I could actually get into the room to read it, but there was no note !
Would not say this is a 5* hotel more a 4*.

take plenty of fly spray and mosquito repellent antihistamine. We have been to many Rui hotels especially Caribbean and Boa Vista, thought we would give Sal a go, this is our honest opinion ill start with the positive first comfortable bed, good power shower, not a bad view of pool, adequate balcony vert tatty chairs, the, cleaner was very good, Main restaurant adequate, specialist venues, good, Now the not so happy bit, how can this be an adult only hotel when children are allowed in at night ?Especially on the neon night and white night when everyone is going crazy jumping up and down going mad and you have little tots under feet huge lasers that can damage eyes alcohol flowing come on that's not right !! for 4 days we couldn't get a sun bed around pool no body on the beds just towels, we could see them from our room going down at 6 am,aparently if you put your own towels down they where not allowed to remove them ? when you did get a bed my god they where absolutely filthy the pool area was a disgrace discarded cups glasses litter everywhere and flies ive never seem so many flies,The beach

Lying on my sunbed now at 9.45 am. No trouble finding one. Going home tomorrow so thought I’d pen some thoughts. After worrying about reviews I’d seen and thinking about cancelling I’m so glad I didn’t. It’s lovely and clean. The people work hard with a smile on their face. The beach is a bit of a walk and only went once. Sea is rough, no shade or under a cover of palm trees so didn’t suit me. The pool area is lovely. Only went in pool without swim up bar though . Food is plentiful and loads of choice. I’ve put on a few pounds whilst here lol. Coffee shop is fantastic. Very popular. Love the Jamaican coffee with Tia Maria. I drink vodka and Diet Coke and found it to be just as nice as at home. Animation team are great. Going to White Party tonight. I’m sure it’ll be loads of fun. Would definitely recommend this hotel

The hotel was clean and the staff were great. The entertainment was good with a mixture of shows, party nights and karaoke. The room were very good, slightly dated but clean and spacious. The main issue is there are only 2 pools both together and a lack of sunbeds. People put towels out early morning and these were often collected by staff if unattended. There is plenty of open space to put either more pools or just sunbed areas. The hotel does need investment to keep up with the competition.

We stayed in the RIU Palace Cabo Verde in Sal for my birthday in September 2024. I can categorically say it was the worst holiday we have ever had the displeasure to endure! The hotel is dirty and unkempt. The bedroom we had was not 5* at all. The bathroom was full of mould, the mini bar was full of ice, where is hasn’t been defrosted in a long time. The fridge was also dirty inside. The furniture was chipped and dirty, there were holes in the curtains and the sofa was ripped. We had a cockroach in our room that had climbed into our bed! The shower leaked, the toilet would constantly re-fill, the ceiling lights would constantly flash and would not turn off. We had maintenance to the room on numerous occasions and the matter was never resolved. We were violently ill and couldn’t leave our dirty, basic and below standard room, with only x2 English speaking channels…BBC news and Sky News. Exactly what you want to do when on holiday! The staff were rude and would ignore you. The staff at the pool bar wore dirty and stained uniforms for days on end; and the bar area would seldom be cleaned. The crockery and glasses in the main restaurants were also chipped and cracked. We paid over £2000 for this holiday, hating every single minute at this resort, even looking for alternative flights back to the UK. If I can give any advice, it would be to never stay in this hotel unless you want to live in squalor and be violently ill.

Resort is pretty, gardens well kept, rooms clean and well stocked. Lovely pool area to relax in, the staff from room attendants, bar, reception, waiters/waitresses were all exceptional. Private beach was beautiful, can see the baby turtles in late September! Nice coffee shop in the lobby, lovely shop with native gifts you can take home. Recommend the lemon shark experience, amazing to see. However, sadly this is not a 5* RIU resort. We did not find the food to be very good, made both of us unwell for part of our trip. The restaurants sadly are not at the same level of other RIU hotels we’ve stayed in. Hot food was often served cold, cold food served lukewarm. Flies on food too. My partner has a severe nut-allergy, and we found out very quickly that items on the buffet are not labelled correctly making it a nightmare for him to select food. I was biting into food to check it out before eating, and discovering that most things weren’t as labelled. Very dangerous for him, life threatening in his case if consumed. Left him very limited on what he could eat and scared to venture outside of pizza and chips for the stay. Not usually a problem in other hotels, all inclusive and we’re always a bit careful. This one was really risky. Not enough sunbeds around the pool, created sunbed wars with people reserving them from silly o’clock. We had no WiFi in our room from day 3 onwards. A bit annoying you needed to go and sit in the lobby or bar.

Dirty room on arrival, empty mini bar, not even water, took 4 days to get supplies, apparently there's shortages, so tui should inform clients before arrival, not enough sunbeds, if you have food intolerances, you will go hungry as I found it hard to even get lactose and dairy free food nothing is labeled for intolerances, cocktails are premaid in slush, I would say tui website make it look like heaven, but it's been hell for us

Went for 2 weeks and loved it! Food was fantastic and had a variety of choice. The resort itself was spotless. An added bonus is the beach the resort has access too has a turtle hatchery! Was so sweet watching the baby turtles hatch. The rooms were lovely and clean. The pool was lovely and the bars (including the pool bars) had a variety of cocktails. We did the island tour and swimming with lemon sharks which was incredible. Highly recommend, ignore the negative reviews. We are booked to go back in April!

Enjoyed our stay, would recommend to friends as a place to chill out . Beautiful beach. They need to work on their cocktails though :)
