The hotel is so crowded and full of people (mostly local people). We waited 10-15 minutes I'm a queue everytime when we went for dinner/breakfast buffet, and then queued up again at counters before we got the food. The dining hall can hold a few hundred people and was in almost full capacity when. We visited. It was not a pleasant experience to us as we came to enjoy the onsen and food, but not to compete with the crowd. Onsen was average. Food was average and tasted like those prepared from food factory. Frankly speaking, I won't come for the second time despite the competitive price. Service was average and no smile on the face of the receptionist.
The overall experience was excellent. Slippers are required upon entering the inn, and the tatami mat flooring felt wonderfully clean and comfortable. We booked a room with a private indoor hot spring, which was incredibly convenient, allowing us to enjoy a soak whenever we pleased.
The half-board plan was very practical. We stayed for two days, and each meal was different, which kept things fresh and exciting. There were complimentary snacks available near the dinner entrance, and they even offered free ramen as a late-night supper. Each day, our room was also replenished with complimentary drinks and snacks.
If you're visiting Dingxishan for a hot spring getaway, I would definitely recommend this place.
The only minor drawback was perhaps its location being quite close to a main road. My room and private indoor hot spring, at least, overlooked the main road, which wasn't very scenic.
If you drive there by yourself, it would be very inconvenient to take the bus. It was around 5 pm when we arrived. It was already dark. There was no one at the front desk. Maybe there was a shortage of manpower. There was only one service staff serving us that day. We waited for 5 days. It took about a minute to see the front desk clerk. He should have gone out to get our dinner, but the service was very considerate and he even took the initiative to help us carry our luggage upstairs👍🏼. The room was large, the hot spring was very comfortable, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. , my daughter brought a lot of self-service snacks downstairs, we all thought it was very good, you can also watch Netflix, the hygiene is also very good, there are many sweaters and bathrobes 👍🏼

Love it so much!!! Very big and complete place to stay for relaxation on your holidays. Good views and comfortable rooms.
A lot of Spaces to relax.
Unluckily that my health is not suitable for onsen so I missed opportunity to use them.
Pingpong room is interesting, I want to play if I wasn’t there alone.
Good dinner and buffet breakfast, but would be much better if I can change beef to pork or other meats.
Surprisingly, this hotel connects to Shika no Yu. Some facilities can be used together, so I roamed around and enjoyed a lot.
An evening lounge to enjoy music and snacks was so good. I really wish to stay here again!
Oh, one more thing, I had a nice pic from window to show you first snow of 2024!!
The location is very good, you can walk to nearby attractions and the station is nearby. The room is clean and sanitary, the view outside the window is beautiful, it is built along the stream, and the open-air hot spring view is even more beautiful. The Japanese breakfast is rich and delicious. A hotel worth recommending.
I want to know what I'm saying. I want to know, I want to know, I want to know Sorry. I like the fact that I can experience high quality food and enjoy the private hot spring to my heart's content. I can drink as much as I want from the fridge, and there are plenty of toiletries and towels. The souvenir amenities are great, and the surrounding scenery is nice. However, the bathtub in the bathroom did not drain well and the drainage hole was exposed and dirty.
Nice and clean hotel, welcoming staff. Nice dinner but I just felt a little bit rushed, it was a few courses and they brought everything at once, the beef and the sashimi were amazing. The room with a private onsen is perfect for couples.
For our family of two adults and one child, the hotel provided a room with four beds and enough space to easily accommodate four futons. It was fantastic!
Had a wonderful stay at Kuriyasuizan. I booked the room with outdoor bath in my own room, had a great soak at all hours of the day.
The meals (dinner and breakfast) was wonderful, and service was great as well!
Only drawback was the long walk from the kappaliner bus stop, it was a nightmare dragging 2 luggages up and down a thick snow covered slope, 6 mins walk on Google maps felt like 20 mins. If only there was a shuttle provided by the hotel 🤣
I chose this hotel specifically for its private bath, only to discover that reservations must be made 2-3 months in advance via email/phone call. The hotel does provide a shuttle bus from Sapporo city, which typically takes about an hour, but you also need to book that at least a month in advance, according to various bloggers. It was quite disappointing not to enjoy the private bath experience and to have to arrange our own transportation from/back to the city. The frustrating part is that you wouldn’t know the advance booking requirement when you make a reservation through Trip.com or similar platforms. Here’s a rephrased version of your statement:
I honestly find this quite unfair.

Outstanding
GGuest UserGreat Japanese-style hotel, the service is very considerate, and the catering is one of the best in professionalism and deliciousness
TTuyihanxinOur appetizer was steamed egg with fresh sea urchin, a delightful contrast of raw and cooked that highlighted both sweetness and intense freshness. Then came the cooked scallop, crowned with a dollop of caviar. The recommended way to enjoy it was to first savor a tiny bit of caviar for a taste of the ocean, then enjoy the scallop and remaining caviar together in one mouthful, followed by a refreshing sip of chilled sake.
The speed at which the dishes were served could practically qualify for a Guinness World Record! The server stationed near the entrance discreetly observed us throughout our meal. Typically, within about ten seconds of us finishing a dish, they would gently approach and ask if they could clear the plate. The next course would then arrive within approximately five minutes. In fact, I found myself deliberately slowing down my eating pace, half-jokingly fearing the kitchen wouldn't be able to keep up with us.
Sashimi, tempura, pan-seared wagyu... I couldn't help but wonder if the head chef here was Chinese? Regardless, the kitchen absolutely nailed it – delivering both incredible speed and excellent quality.
NNanxinghuayoulunThe most special thing about this Hokkaido hotel is the warm accommodation in Jozankei
Dinner is kaiseki cuisine, the hot spring ♨️ has a design night vision guide, a large bath rest area, and piano and flute performances. In the evening, you can use the next door Kokoro no Sato Jozankei, a very special place for meditation, with a terrace foot bath + art gallery + library + evening tea
After soaking in the evening ♨️ walk through the corridor of the snowy house, come to Kokoro no Sato Jozankei, and taste some fragrant and glutinous roasted sweet potatoes
Original baked apples, flipping through the photography album of cute animals in Eastern Hokkaido, in the atmosphere of white noise background music, the heart unknowingly calmed down
There are very few Chinese messages in the tourist record, basically all in Korean and Japanese. Occasionally, you can feel the happiness transmitted through the text when you turn to one!
By accident, the bus stop back to Sapporo is right in front of his house, and the scheduled rafting gathering place is next door. It's so convenient!
EEmmazhaostayed here for two days ,the hotel is in a good location and it's a relatively nice hot - spring hotel in the local area. Here are some aspects that I found a bit inconvenient during my check-in, and I'd like to share them with you.
1. The housekeeper suggested wearing the clothes and slippers provided by the hotel. It's a pity that all the sizes are the same. It doesn't matter much about the clothes, but the slippers are too big. They make it extremely difficult to walk and it's very easy to and fall.
2. There are a lot of steps in the room. An elderly person in my family tripped and fell when going to the toilet in the middle of the night. You must be careful at night.
3. Most of the customers are Japanese. As for payment, they can only pay in cash or use Visa or Master cards. UnionPay cards cannot be used here.
4. One last thing to pay special attention to is the door of the room. You need to lock it additionally both when entering and exiting the room. If you don't fasten all the locks from the inside when you come in, people outside will be able to open the door. We've already had the embarrassing experience of three of us lying in bed when a group of people suddenly burst in from outside. Please keep this in mind.
GGuest UserThe environment is really nice, and it's even more blissful when it snows.
But it's hard to book a free shuttle bus, and I couldn't make one a month in advance. It's cheaper to contact the hotel to book a taxi, 6,000 yen/trip (get off at Sapporo Station)
Includes one night and two meals, a public open-air bath, and you can enjoy the beautiful snow scenery.
GGuest UserIt might have not been clearly mentioned but there is no air-conditioning provided, only central heating. During my time there, weather was cold out so the room only had 3 levels, low heat, medium heat and high heat. There is no way to sleep in those conditions and it took me a while to realize because the receptionist on the help desk phone did not speak English, so I went down to the lobby past midnight to ask the only staff available. Through some help on google translate and his hand gestures, I was told that I had to leave my windows open to let cold air into the room. This was not explained at any point during the check-in so I guess that's the downside for foreigners wanting to stay here. There's also a hot spring tax you have to pay when you check out. All things considered Jozankei is not a big town so everything is accessible and the hotel is generally comfortable otherwise.
SSolomochiThe view from the balcony is refreshing. The room was small and cozy. The bedding, indoor bath, toilet, and kitchen were all clean. The ”personal recommendations” for restaurants in the guidebook were helpful. I think it's the perfect place to go alone and refresh yourself.
CCookie118The service and amenities were great, as well as the onsen. Breakfast was also very good too. The check-in and check-out were very easy to do, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The local was ok, I recommend this place of you want to stay out side of sapporo, but if you plan on comuting into the city then be mindful of how long it takes. The room was really clean and tidy, but it did see a few ants in my room. (I visited in winter so if you go in the other seasons you may be fine)
