Great value for money. Room size fine. Very good location. Good facilities in bedrooms. Friendly staff. They let us keep our suitcases. Got everything we needed. We had a pleasant stay. Would probably have breakfast if we come again. Thank you.

Very haphazard good breakfasts room cheap price but very dark dingy poor low quality boarding house very noisy from nightclub bar opposite bright lights shone through window keeping us awake and hangers on shouting lingering around drunk outside marleys think it was called. In regards to our room they turn heating off ar night and it resembled north pole freezing cold and not acceptible if have lung disease and need to be warm esp in cold wintery weather as believe they making cut backs but unbearably cold had to go to bed in jumpers fleeces in order to kerp warm carpet and reception dirty as was bathroom and bar but breakfast okay some staff friendly older senior woman maybe boss very surly would not recommend or return far from satisfactory

The toilet cistern filling ,floorboards and room doors, were noisy.staff very nice breakfast good.very reasonable price.

This was our fourth visit to the Rivelyn Hotel , we love this hotel , it's very comfortable, clean with great staff. The room we stayed in was 217 it was nicely decorated with a lovely modern tiled shower room . We cannot fault this hotel it is ideally situated on the south cliff . We will be back . For a 3 star hotel I find Rivelyn excellent. It is always clean, the staff are helpful and friendly and beds are comfortable and the breakfast well cooked. It is located within a 2 minute walk to beautiful sea views from the Esplanade, a 5 minute walk of local shops and a 10 minute or less walk to the town centre, restaurants, cafes and the theatre, and also the beach.

Positives 1st: the staff were super friendly, made a big fuss of my dog and gave me a warm Yorkshire welcome. Room was clean and shower was hot and powerful, although the bathroom was quite tiny. However, I wouldn't advise going to this hotel on a weekend if you want a good night's sleep. There was a wedding reception with live music until midnight and then Marley's bar opposite continued to play loud music until 1.30am. 🙁

We stayed 4 nights at the Rivelyn Hotel, it was brilliant value for money, homely, friendly, welcoming. The room was clean, comfy, and the bed was perfect for a good nights sleep. The bar was really reasonably priced and breakfast was really good and in keeping with good value for money. The staff were amazing, so friendly and always above and beyond. Our visit was a really good break and we will definitely come back again. On speaking to other people staying there many had stayed before and had enjoyed it so much they had come back again. I have stayed many times in Yorkshire and in many places but this gem of a hotel is somewhere I will be recommending to friends and family and definitely coming back to. Next time im going to stay longer!

If you want a cheap hotel which has a great location with spacious public rooms with a bar and bar food, then book The Rivelyn Hotel. I stayed there for 4 nights and was upgraded from a single room to a small double. It was reasonably spacious for one person with good storage and a wash basin in the room. The shower room was very small but again it was OK with plenty of hot water. It was a 10 minute walk to the station and a 5 minute walk to the Esplanade which had a choice of a couple of bars and restaurants. It was also very close to the lift that took you down and up to the Scarborough Spa and beaches. In addition the staff are really nice and helpful and Linda seems to hold it together - although it was pretty busy around breakfast time. Breakfast offered a number of alternatives - which I found confusing sometimes but again was very reasonably priced. All in all I would stay there again - particularly when I compare the prices with other hotels.

My second stay, excellent value and friendly staff. Had en suite single with ample drawer space and quickly running hot water. About ten minutes walk from the town centre, or 7A bus behind the hotel. Most welcome are the breakfast options. Since Covid, bed & breakfast is dying out, usually replaced by bed with cooked breakfast £10 extra, take it or leave it. Not a great deal if there's a nearby Wetherspoon, where a full English is only c£5.50. Rivelyn have charged for breakfast separately since before Covid but it's very flexible, they do egg, bacon, or sausage sandwich for £2.95. See you again next year.
