Shima Kanko Hotel the Classic Reviews

Nothing to say, the environment, location, service, and various daily necessities are all first-class. It is worthy of being called G7 Hotel. On the surface, there is nothing special, but it is reflected in the details. The only drawback may be that it is too expensive.

The hotel is a bit old, but it is very clean. The service is good. The French restaurant is very unique. There is also Songban beef. The breakfast is also rich. There is also a shuttle bus to the station. Staying for only one day is a bit too short. You can arrange two days.

The sunset view, one of the 100 most beautiful in the world, is definitely not an exaggeration. Hotel guests can enjoy a drink and watch the sunset in the lounge on both floors. The lounge is open to hotel guests from 7 am to 10 pm, and drinks, snacks and snacks are available for free, which is great 😎

The scenery is beautiful, and I especially recommend the teppanyaki here, which is great!

Shima Kanko hotel is located in a small island in Mie prefecture,Japan where was G7 2016 Summit held.The hotel is fabulous of arts and modern designed.With the island views,the room is perfectly comfortable and clean.Ladies(or gentlemens) can spend precious time at Mikimoto boutique ,the most famous Japanese pearls products.Staffs are friendly and morning breakfast are so amazing both Japanese style and American style. Highly recommended!

Best view and relaxing atmosphere. Nice restaurant.

This was definitely my best experience at a hotel in Japan. Hotel staff were very courteous and attentive. We were treated like VIPs throughout the stay. Our room was superb, with a great view of the bay. The bed and pillows were very comfortable (where can we buy those pillows?). The room was very quiet. In many hotels, you will often hear some buzzing noise of AC (?), but not in this hotel. We particularly enjoyed our time in the guest lounge with a reading room—looking over Ago Bay at sunset and enjoying small but exquisite hors d'oeuvres (the quiche was a killer!). For non-readers, this is a romantic place to look into your lover’s eyes. I enjoyed reading, relaxing next to my husband, who was sipping wine. I couldn’t finish “Karei-naru Ichizoku” so we will come back to finish the book. It would be better if the reading room had a better selection of books both in Japanese and in English--for example, some novels set in ocean resort hotels (I can recommend some), and reading lamps (for after sunset). Our stay concluded with an amazing breakfast. Although it was called “American breakfast,” it came with soup (which tasted great) and a salad (which tasted great, too, and very very fresh—cucumbers tasted amazingly juicy). I have never had a better egg benedict! The hollandaise sauce is flavored with shrimp, elevating the egg benedict to a real French dish. Overall, this is the best place to come when you want to be pampered. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.

We visited to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. The hospitality was excellent from check-in to check-out, and we felt relaxed. The lounge had a wide selection of alcoholic drinks, which we drank before and after our meal. We ordered the La Mer dinner course, which we had been looking forward to. The dishes, which lavishly used fresh spiny lobster and abalone, were all delicious and exquisite. When we asked for a message on the dessert plate, they prepared a wonderful one decorated with gorgeous fresh flowers, which we were very grateful for. The warm hospitality of the hotel staff was very impressive, and we are really glad that we chose this hotel.
