Everything you need and nothing you don’t. Decently hot showers, clean nice size bed, and food available for purchase. Right next to a mini big C if you need anything. I stayed for 6 days while awaiting my evisa application approval, and for the chea price it was perfect.

Close to the city center and facing the cultural center, it is advantageous for beginners who are not familiar with geography. The hostel owner is fluent in English, but the staff speaks little English. Everyone in Laos is very friendly. One downside is that the dust inside the room is so heavy that it is dirty enough to take off your shoes, probably because it is under construction. Even after the construction, if the price is the same, it is a hostel that I want to use for my next visit.

Not located in the city centre but convenient enough to walk to. However, you get the space in exchange, which I prefer. The bed was comfortable and its curtain provided privacy. The staff were nice warm and courteous. Wifi worked well. Water dispenser was available. I highly recommend Venn Hostel.

Excellent location in the city centre of Vientiane. The check in was fast. The bunk bed was strong and with curtain and individual power socket and lighting. The A/C was powerful and can cope with the heat. The included breakfast was decent when compared to the room rate. Overall, Funky Monkey was of better conditions than other economical hostels nearby.

Considering the price, it's not bad, but the cleanliness is lacking. The male staff provided good service, but the female staff seemed forced to work. Overall, I give it a 6/10.

I revisited this place. They greeted me with a kind smile. If you're not overly sensitive, it's a pretty good value for money. You can hear the cars from the road, but it didn't bother me.

This is a converted B&B townhouse. The location is good, close to the Mekong River and Bar Street, not far from Vientiane’s city center and various tourist attractions. The living facilities are relatively sound, and there are a lot of foreigners and backpackers. All parts of the world constitute a small international community, but the service attitude of the proprietress needs to be improved.

The room's cleanliness was subpar. The bedsheets had stains, and the pillows were yellowed. I had to call the front desk in the middle of the night to get them changed, and it was slightly better afterward. The space was really small. The location is quite close to the night market, but the facilities feel like they're from the 1980s-90s. Overall, Vientiane itself feels like a small town from the last century, yet it's trying to catch up with first-tier Chinese city prices. This hotel, however, is indeed one of the cheaper options for a single room.

When I went there, there were elderly people, and it took a long time to stay.
