"Close to Si Hom Market, there's a lot of food variety at night. The room was good, new, clean, and stylish, definitely good value for money. The location is excellent. Breakfast was served individually. The bathroom was nice, and the AC was cold. Coffee, tea, and drinking water were provided. I'm deducting 1 point because the Wi-Fi kept cutting in and out."

PALA Garden Hotel
"Booked on strength of reviews but didn't get a response to messages about pickup from railways station for the entire evening so took a taxi. When I arrived the grounds and pool looked run down and unloved, The entire hotel block was empty giving the place an abandoned feel. The room itself was very hot even with air con on full so didn't sleep well, this turned out to be because the windows wouldn't shut as they were swollen.. No tea or coffee supplied in the room. Breakfast was supposedly until 9:30 but arrived at 9 and nothing left, on buffet not even coffee! Saved a little by the kind chef who offered a simple bowl of noodles. Check out was stated at 2pm which was another reason I chose to book here but they then said check out was at 12 (due to that room being booked out) and they couldn't change this which was odd as the place was deserted. Overall really, really poor."

"The room was really dirty. There was no shampoo or shower gel. It wasn't cleaned well at all. It reeked of cigarette smoke, absolutely full of smoke. There was a terrible smell. There's no excuse for a newly opened hotel to be like this."

Handora Hotel
"During the Qingming Festival, I discovered there were direct flights from Chengdu to Laos, so I promptly booked a flight online. When booking a hotel, I found the Handora Entrepreneur Hotel. Initially, I thought an entrepreneur hotel would be for young people, and since it was close to the airport and French Street, I decided to stay there. After checking in, I found this hotel to be truly fascinating and full of hidden talents. Most of the guests were young entrepreneurs and business owners seeking opportunities overseas. Every evening there was a sharing session discussing Lao laws and potential pitfalls, with everyone exchanging ideas and the owner generously sharing valuable information. During the day, the owner would drive us around, taking us on boat trips to the Mekong River for shrimp and fish fishing, visiting the Mekong River night market, and taking us to try various international cuisines. He treated us to Lao and Vietnamese food, which tasted completely different and delicious. While the hotel wasn't luxurious, it was full of warmth and a welcoming atmosphere, making it well worth the price. They even offered free in-room massages with excellent techniques. Free electric scooters were also provided, which was fantastic. Because sometimes when we go out, renting an electric scooter is very expensive. But he provided us with such simple service, which was great and very thoughtful. There was even a free kitchen; it felt like the owner wasn't in it for the money, but just to make friends. On our last day, we didn't have bus tickets or high-speed rail tickets. The owner personally drove us to the highway entrance and showed us how to hitchhike on foot. And he didn't even charge us. It was wonderful. If I have the chance next time, I will definitely come back, and I recommend it to everyone."
