The Babbacombe Hotel

Just returned from 5 days/4 nights at this hotel with a coach trip. Absolutely stunning location. We opted for a sea view (room 30) and it was lovely. We had a small balcony with 2 chairs which was all we needed. Room was fine. Twin beds, a bit soft, but we slept. Wardrobe, plenty of drawer space, hairdryer, tea/coffee making, TV, bedside clock. A little bit of mould in top corners over windows but easy to rectify. A full length mirror would be an advantage. Bathroom was small, we had a shower. Toiletries supplied. Always clean towels if wanted. Household staff kept it nice and clean. We had breakfast and dinner. Good choice at breakfast, hot or cold. Dinner had 3 choices for starters and 4 mains, always had a carvery, fish and veggie option. Lots of dessert choices but I would have liked a fruit option. Drinks in the bar were a bit expensive. And I can't believe they don't make cocktails there, they come out of a machine!! Entertainment is a personal preference and we did not think much of it but I know other people loved it. The staff were amazing. Always friendly, helpful and extremely pleasant. Model Village, Bygones, Cliff Lift all in walking distance and well worth a visit.

Amazing friendly staff at reception, Faye, The amazing Ian, Duty Manager David, and David the manager who unfortunately I didn’t get to see this time, Matthew, and we missed Eve this time and please send her our regards, The Bar staff . Everyone works so hard. Highly recommend this hotel . And to all the housekeepers you do such an amazing job and we Thank you so much . Also the Costa staff work extremely hard and again are so friendly. What we like is that everyone remembers us and we are welcomed with opens arms. The views from Rooms 19 and 20 are outstanding with sunbeds if you wish to use them . We can’t Thank you enough and we will be seeing you again soon. And Thank you so much for my Birthday card . Just spent 3 nights here and really enjoyed it. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The food is very good & well cooked. The view from our balcony window is amazing looking out at the sea.The rooms are tired but clean with a good shower in the bathroom. We personally felt the beds need to be firmer but it would most definitely not stop us from returning

We had a lovely stay in this hotel. I have no complaints at all, everything was excellent. The staff are so helpful and polite they genuinely seem to want guests to enjoy themselves. Our room had a sea view and was spacious and spotlessly clean. The food is very good with a good choice of meals. Entertainment varied and of a very good standard. All in all a lovely hotel, we will be returning. Many thanks to the Babbacombe hotel.

We have stayed at the Babbacomb hotel a few times before, this time it had been ‘freshened up’! Our room (17) was light, clean, airy and spacious. The en-suite was sparkling with a large powerful shower. The 6ft bed was extremely comfortable and we had tea and coffee making facilities. The food was very good, well cooked breakfast and four choices of meal in the evening. The nightly entertainment varied a bit, but not everyone has the same tastes and things I didn’t think great, others loved! Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. We had a great time and will happily return again!

Coach trip 26th feb to 1st march. We have stayed in 2, 3, 4 and 5 star hotels and this hotel is the equal of all of them. It is clean and bright. Our room number 2 large comfortable beds and marvelous bathroom. The meals served buffet style were varied, well cooked and presented and for anyone with difficulty with buffet style, there were staff readily available to assist. I cannot heap enough praise on the staff as the bottom line is "great staff make for a great visit" and they made it a great visit. Nothing is perfect but this hotel is as good as it can get.

Best hotel I have ever stayed in excellent service Food was very good , restaurant was lovely ,hotel was scrupulously clean , beds were very comfortable , rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, staff were very helpful and could not do enough for you 100% perfect hotel

Brilliant choice at breakfast. self service...same at evening meal spoiled for choice. Entertainment in the evening was first class .didn't matter we never won at the bingo 😒 🙄 😕. Drinks at reasonable prices. Bar staff very pleasant nothing too much trouble at the bar .

What a Brilliant 2 weekends. Great atmosphere, staff very friendly and efficient, fabulous location... Hospitable as always. Entertainment great, food very good, hotel clean and tidy. Great to have a Costa in the hotel, and now they have started doing Sunday lunches.
