The best thing about New World Hotel Shanghai is its excellent location – truly convenient and well-connected (5/5). However, the overall experience was mixed.
The room was average (3/5), a bit dated and in need of renovation. The bathroom was in better shape (4/5), clean and functional.
Breakfast was the biggest disappointment (1/5) – very limited options, catering almost exclusively to Asian tastes. There were no eggs, no variety, and even no glasses for water. For European guests, the lack of choice was quite noticeable.
In summary: decent stay for the location, but breakfast and room quality definitely need improvement.

The place is very convenient for commuting, food trips, grocery runs, and more. It’s clean, located near Ximending and Ximen Station, with plenty of food options nearby. The staff are very accommodating, and the free water is a great bonus. Overall, the price is reasonable and well worth the convenience and comfort we experienced.

Located in Ximending area just bedide a 24-hr Carrefour grocery store. Towels are changed and water refilled on a daily basis. Recommended.

Good location , local breakfast , small bathroom with bathtub 😍, very clean 🥰. 10 minutes walk yo simenting, easy access to restaurant and mini mart is just around the corner . 😘
