The room was very clean, with smart home features. The entry alarm system was a great feature. The complimentary washing machines and dryers on the first floor were a huge convenience. The service was excellent. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Taiyuan.

The hotel's interior and ambiance were excellent, and the service was fantastic – truly warm and welcoming. Breakfast was quite good; I especially enjoyed trying Shanxi's knife-cut noodles. The only minor drawback was the hurried construction on the main road just outside, which we were told was being rushed for completion before the National Day holiday. Work carried on late into the evening and began early each morning. Consequently, rooms facing the road could be a bit noisy, but with the windows closed, the sound was perfectly manageable.

Xinjian Road is currently undergoing construction. The parking lot is a bit of a walk away, but it's free of charge. During check-in, the staff assigned me a room on the residential side and upgraded me to one with a large window. Although construction on Xinjian Road starts at 7 AM, I couldn't hear any noise from my room, which was a huge plus. (Earplugs and a steam eye mask were also provided upon check-in.)
The front desk staff recommended Yuhe No. 5 restaurant. It costs about 40 RMB per person and offers a set menu with three classic Shanxi dishes, a pot of tea, and two bowls of rice. My companion and I were absolutely stuffed!
On the second day, we were able to get a late check-out until 2 PM, which gave us plenty of time to explore and have brunch before comfortably returning to check out. We ended up having brunch at Lao Taiyuan (South Store), trying Taiyuan Tounao and lamb soup. The meal for two cost 50 RMB and was very satisfying. Afterwards, we took a stroll around Zhonglou Street, Gulou Street, and Liuxiang.
The room featured a huge 65-inch TCL TV. It was great to relax in bed and watch TV at night, and I also appreciated the screen mirroring feature for phones. The mattress was very comfortable too.
Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay.

The road leading to the hotel has been under construction for what feels like ages, and to my surprise, it's still not finished. My taxi driver also took a wrong turn upon arrival, leading to several unnecessary detours, which was incredibly frustrating at the time.
However, the hotel itself was excellent, and it offers great value for money in Taiyuan. If you sign up for a membership during your stay, you can get a 15% discount and complimentary breakfast.
The female staff members had wonderful service attitudes. They even helped us carry our luggage to the taxi stand when we checked out.
For breakfast, you can try the specialty lamb offal soup at the nearby Hong Laowu Mutton Soup restaurant. From directly across the street, you can catch bus #38 to the Provincial Museum.
I'd recommend this place if you're traveling light, as the road right outside the entrance is absolutely terrible otherwise.
