Tiancheng International Youth Hostel (Urumqi)

After my trip through Southern Xinjiang, I came to Urumqi to rest up for five days and really enjoyed my stay. The washing machine was free to use, which was a nice bonus. It's very close to the airport, and there's a bus stop just a short walk away, making it super convenient to get around.

A truly excellent stay! I originally booked just one night as a stopover, but the environment was so pleasant and the value for money outstanding that I ended up extending for another three days. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I visit Xinjiang. It's very clean and much more economical than staying in a hotel. On my first day, one of the staff members even helped me carry my luggage upstairs – such warm hospitality! The common area is fantastic. If you're a night owl and don't want to disturb your dorm-mates, you can just hang out there. It's well-equipped with power outlets, Wi-Fi, and even free fruits and nuts. If you're with friends, you can even play billiards or Werewolf – it's truly excellent. Most importantly, the shower and drying areas are incredibly spacious, which is a big deal! In other hostels I've stayed in, the showers were always cramped and uncomfortable, but here, there's plenty of room.

This hostel enjoys an excellent location with easy access to public transport, situated approximately 300 meters from the Zhuan factory bus stop. It's also conveniently close to both the Exhibition Center and the Olympic Center. The facilities are comprehensive, featuring a billiards area, a book bar, a tatami zone, and even a charming glass attic. The main lobby is exceptionally spacious. The staff are incredibly friendly and always eager to offer helpful travel advice. Overall, it provides outstanding value for money, making it an ideal choice for backpackers and young travelers on a budget. Highly recommended!
