Drift Inn

From the time I arrived, I was given personalized attention in a warm, welcoming manner. My reception, provided by Maxwell, was smooth. He introduced me to the facility in great detail. My room, #7 Congo, was a standard double room great for solo travelers. Crisp sheets covered the comfortable bed, and in the bath a rainfall shower in a rustic setting along with standard amenities and crisp white towels. Amelia, who works with Maxwell for reception and requests, assisted me during the day with reservations and taxi requests. Speaking of taxis, this facility is not in town, and regardless of what Google Maps may instruct you, it is not walkable. The staff will warn you. Just use a taxi! A few tips: 1. There are no eating facilities here. However, a made-to-order English breakfast is served along with cereals and juices in the morning. For any other meal, your hosts are happy to order food for delivery. 2. There is no television or phone in the room. They provide good internet. 3. The room had a variety of plugs. I found one for American, British as well as type N for South Africa. 4. Any water you find in containers in your room or reception is purified. They provide a purified dispenser and purified ice in the outside bar area.

I stayed here with a couple of friends for just under a week and we wish we had of stayed for longer. The staff were all extremely welcoming, friendly & helpful - they made sure we had everything we needed & helped to organise activities for us last minute on site with such ease. On top of this the common areas were so convenient - the bar area was 24/7 which is so uncommon and means you could help yourself to extra beverages, tea and coffee when ever needed. This was right next to the pool, so amazing to sit by after spending time in the hot African sun. Additionally, the bedrooms were beautiful, so comfortable & clean. The coffee was amazing, highly recommend. Breakfast was amazing too. Not a single fault - if anyone is looking for a place to stay in Victoria Falls, Drift Inn is it.

It's a unique experience staying at this hotel, located facing a vast forest, free from maddening crowds, professionally managed and beautiful ambience. The owner couple stay in the campus ensuring personal attention to the guests, there is an excellent swimming pool and expansive garden to relax. There is a small bar to quench the thirst with chilled beer. One of the staff members particularly Ms.Aliane was quite knowledgeable and she guided us and arranged for local sightseeing. Wifi is excellent. Parking is available. We could see a freely roaming Elephant in front of the gate during one of the evenings. We will stay at the place whenever we travel this side again.

How could you not like the Drift Inn when it is staffed by such friendly, helpful, accommodating people? Amelia and Maxwell are so kind and exude hospitality. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and equipped with comfy beds and mosquitoes nets and nice decor. Even though only breakfast is available here, if, after a long day you are too tired to go out to eat at night, one of them will help you order something to be delivered to the guest house. The whole atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with fellow travelers interacting and visiting each other. A very welcoming place, a nice alternative to a large impersonal hotel.
