Huàngyán 36: A Tranquil Oasis After the Typhoon~ Just checked out today, and I absolutely have to rave about this stay – it truly exceeded all our expectations! We specifically chose to check in after the typhoon had passed, and initially, we were quite concerned about potential disruptions. But it turned out our worries were completely unfounded, haha! It felt as if the typhoon had swept away all the usual hustle and bustle and muggy heat, leaving behind only the freshest, most peaceful, and most comfortable version of Gulangyu. The hotel's location is also superb. Situated at No. 36 Huàngyán Road, right in the heart of Gulangyu, it offers a peaceful retreat amidst the lively surroundings. It's incredibly convenient to walk to major attractions like Sunlight Rock and Shuzhuang Garden, yet it's cleverly tucked away from the busiest crowds of Longtou Road, allowing us to enjoy a unique sense of peace and relaxation. The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. Even though the typhoon had just passed, they maintained their exceptional attentiveness. Check-in instructions were clear, and any requests we had were promptly addressed, which made us feel completely at ease. Our room was on the third floor, and the view of the hotel from this vantage point was absolutely stunning! The room itself was clean, tidy, and very stylish, with all the necessary amenities. We particularly loved the small balcony; it offered a perfect view of the courtyard and lawn, looking fresh and vibrant after the rain. Enjoying a wonderful breakfast in the courtyard each morning was incredibly delightful and relaxing. We also made sure to try their specially crafted coffee and cocktails, which were absolutely delicious!

The accommodation itself was also excellent, featuring a distinctive and charming Nanyang (Southeast Asian) style decor.

Gulangyu's most beautiful hotel, boasting a charming Nanyang style. My girlfriends and I chose it for our getaway, kicking off our time with afternoon tea. We then spent the evening enjoying drinks and intimate chats in the courtyard. This place truly felt like a home away from home.

I'd call this the pinnacle of hotels in Fujian! To dedicate 2000 square meters in the heart of Gulangyu to just nine guest rooms is simply unheard of. The bedding was so incredibly comfortable that I still dream about it 😭 (Seriously, I got home last night and immediately wanted to replace my own subpar bedding!) The Floment Bar in the courtyard is an absolute hidden gem! If I hadn't only stayed for one day, I would have loved to try every single drink on the menu. (The bartender was handsome too!) Our personal butler was incredibly attentive and charming! If it's your first time in Gulangyu and your budget allows, don't even think twice – just book it. It will guarantee you a wonderful trip to Gulangyu.
