Xiamen Baihaishu Hotel (Huanghua Beach, Huandao Road)

We loved the location, just a short 250m walk to Huangcao Sand Beach, and 500m to the nearby restaurants and stores on Huangcao Middle Road. There is no restaurant on site, but you can purchase cold drinks and cup noodles from the front desk using Weixen or AliPay. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, in spite of our inability to speak Chinese. The room was a decent size for the money, with cable tv, good air conditioning, and blackout curtains, though accessing the toilet is a bit of a tight squeeze for a larger person like myself, and its proximity to the shower meant a wet floor for most of the day. We booked a patio room, which had a table and chairs, plus a large drying rack for swimsuits and towels, etc, all overlooking the “swimming pool.” This was our only complaint about our stay. We had specifically searched for a hotel with a pool to lounge in, and while they do have a tiled “kiddy pool” area, it has obviously not been in service for some time (see photo), and couldn’t be more than 60cm deep - not really swimmable.  All in all, we would definitely return.
