Upon check-in, the assistant took our passport and proceeded to make copies of every page of our passport, even though he only needed the information page. The guards came in and were obviously very entertained by the foreign guests, even though we could speak Chinese, and picked up the copies of our private passport pages and sat reading it as though it was a newspaper for his enjoyment. I took it from him since it was completely disrespectful and an invasion of our privacy. Would you do that to any other guest?
The room was small and dirty and the AC did not cool the room. The carpet was stained, had lots of rubbish on it and also had cigarette burn marks all over despite being a non smoking room.
The breakfast was awful. We are well accustomed to Chinese breakfast and enjoy it usually, but this was not fresh food and had been sat for hours, turning brown, dry and hard. The only western option was toast, which was also not fresh. We quickly left, still hungry.
The only positive I have is the television, which my daughter enjoyed watching a movie on.
Thankfully this was just a one night stopover stay, we hope to never stay again.
