It was very nice stay at the hotel. I enjoyed the onsen in the hotel and the staffs are very friendly.

It was not as good as expected. The store was very welcoming. One of the hot spring pools was too cold and there were no toiletries. Breakfast and dinner were good.

Although it is a traditional Japanese-style inn, there are art decorations and piano music playing for a long time, making it feel leisurely and comfortable. The food quality is better than expected, with western elements added, I am very satisfied. The hotel has a shuttle bus service, but no relevant information was provided during the booking process. We walked to the hotel by ourselves, which took more than ten minutes. It was a bit embarrassing in the snow in winter.

There is a shuttle bus to the ski resort and discounted cable car tickets. The dinner is quite sumptuous and comes in three styles. The CP value is excellent. The disadvantage is that the sulfur hot springs only have flush water.

Matukaneya was situated a bit away from the main street of Zao, in a quiet part of the village. The rooms were large, warm and comfortable. The meals were excellent; they only used local Yamagata ingredients (including the out-of-this-world Tsuya Hime rice) and the dishes were different every day. The staff was friendly and helpful. There were four pools, two natural onsen pools and two hot spring pools. I only went to the natural onsen pool and it was not too hot and very comfortable. The staff were also great in helping us with local hiking routes and with giving us a lift around the village. I did not ski but I note that the hotel was not far from the ski slopes. They also had special deals for the ski lifts for hotel guests.

The buffet in the morning and evening was rich in variety and very delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful and made me feel very comfortable during my stay. I would love to hear from you again.

I went to Zao for the ski resort. There is no place to wash your body in the sulfur hot spring bath. Therefore, it is necessary to wash your body once at the artificial hot spring, then change clothes and go to the sulfur hot spring. This is very troublesome. At first, I thought it can't be helped because it will rust, but it's troublesome. It should be the same even if it is refurbished. Meals are shabu-shabu. More than 5 people wanted two pots. The taste was delicious. If you are looking for a bath, I think you should stop because it is troublesome.

I made my Zao debut last season and have been addicted to Zao ever since. I used it for the first time. Matsuganeya Annex is a place that you will want to support with all your heart. Below is my honest impression. 1: I usually use American hotels both domestically and overseas due to their functionality, efficiency, and staff capacity, so I think it's only natural that the price and hotel service are proportional. We will not tolerate any mistakes. Matsuganeya Annex has a lot of Showa feel, so it might be a departure from your usual hotel choices. But it's very comfortable. You can relax without any reason. Managing Director S is the person in charge of the site, and I have a very good impression of him, including his ability to deal with problems. Everyone including Mrs. S and T at the front desk is full of Yamagata hospitality. 2: I think that companies are making tremendous efforts in response to the recent rise in prices. It's a great value and very delicious meal. Yamagata's famous ``imoni'' served in a large bowl is truly impressive. I couldn't help but ask Mr. I for a refill. Unlike other inns, there are no menus. I don't feel inconvenienced because I'm in a position that I don't think is necessary from the perspective of SDGs. If you want to know about individual dishes, just ask. The response will also be a good opportunity to experience Yamagata hospitality. The reasonably priced dishes continue until the final dessert. High-quality ingredients alone do not guarantee a satisfying meal. 3: The building is not new and the noise from the neighboring and upper floors is not blocked. WIFI is available, but since people carry IT equipment with them these days, there are restrictions such as the location of outlets, the size of the desk, and the number of outlets. Guests will need to make their own arrangements. Please accept the accommodation fee and Yamagata hospitality. I had a bedroom in the east building (with toilet and bath), but I took out the pot that occupied my desk and other things I decided not to use. There are two washing machines (200 yen) and two dryers (100 yen) each in the building (please prepare detergent). Nowadays, washer/dryers with locks and privacy features are the norm, but this is different. However, accommodations with coin laundry facilities are limited in Zao, so this is very helpful. If you go to the front desk to check whether the washer or dryer is in use, you can reduce the risk of false suspicions being raised against female users. 4: The hot spring (observation bath) and large public bath are very a**ospheric. The hot springs are available 24 hours a day, so even if you get irritated by receiving business emails late at night, you can refresh your mood with a hot spring bath. A massage chair is installed in the public bath, and during off-peak hours, you can relax by taking a bath and repeatedly using the massage chair. However, the hot spring/large communal bath area is cold during times when there is no heating. 5: You can walk to the ropeway station heading to the frost-covered field from the back via the stairs and snowy path. The stairs are steep and hard when it snows. On the way back from the ropeway station, there was a souvenir shop called ``Meihinkan'' where I bought a skewer of ``Tama Konnyaku'' and ate it while huffing and puffing, then I walked back to Matsuganeya Annex.

I went on a ski tour with my co-workers. The facility itself was well-maintained and I was able to use it comfortably. The hospitality was very pleasant. It's the kind of place you'll want to visit again.
