A friend came from another place to play. I booked her this B&B which is only a few minutes' walk from the high-speed rail station for easy access. The B&B is newly built and renovated, with a good environment, clean and sanitary. There are also aromatherapy and small cakes in the room. It's heartwarming! There were no trains passing by at night, so it was very quiet. The landlord was very enthusiastic and helped arrange a car and driver to take us out for a whole day. The driver was also warm-hearted and patient. He took the trouble to go wherever he said and talked to us about local life and customs along the way. I am especially grateful for this encounter!

It's just a few minutes' walk to the scenic spot featured on the 20 RMB banknote, and Xingping Ancient Town is a mere 3-5 minute stroll away. Chaobanshan Pier is also incredibly close; you can reach it quickly by electric shuttle, which is super convenient! The round-trip boat ride from Xingping Chaobanshan Pier to Nine-Horse Fresco Hill is a must-do. This route covers the most picturesque section of the Li River, including the famous landscape from the 20 RMB banknote and the Nine-Horse Fresco Hill itself. A one-way journey takes about 50 minutes. Our room was very comfortable, clean, and tidy. The best part? From the balcony, we could even see the iconic landscape featured on the 20 RMB banknote – absolutely stunning! The proprietress was incredibly thoughtful and even specially prepared breakfast for us! We were all extremely satisfied and would definitely love to come back again!

Hilton Hotel. First, I want to clarify that this is not a positive review, and it has nothing to do with the staff. In fact, all the staff members I encountered were polite, greeted guests proactively, and went above and beyond to solve problems. I'm writing a neutral review in the hopes that it will be seen more by hotel management. Let's start with the positives: There are many hotels in Xingping, but fewer internationally renowned brands. Hilton therefore stands out. The hotel has an excellent location. If you're heading to Chaobanshan Pier, it's a quick trip. The main room types face east, and if the weather is good, the sunrise views are undoubtedly very pleasant. Now for the actual experience. Regarding check-in: The front desk was understaffed, and check-in was quite slow. We checked into a family room last Thursday afternoon. The two front desk agents were each assisting a guest. One seemed to be going through a process involving on-site photo check-ins to get a room upgrade; the other was assisting someone using sign language. Neither process was fast. The front desk agent then left for a moment to guide the sign language user to their room. I was standing there with two elderly relatives over 75 for more than 10 minutes before we finally checked in. If I had known it would take so long, they could have suggested we sit in the lobby first. By the way, the lobby felt cramped due to the excessive number of items displayed. Regarding the room: Upon entering the room, we discovered the air conditioning unit didn't have Chinese labels, so the elderly couldn't operate it independently. This was my first time encountering a phone that was completely out of order. To find someone, you had to walk a long way to the front desk. The staff member who came to fix it worked on it for a long time, sweating profusely. It was quite a tough job. Eventually, they got it working, but there was still static. The balcony light also couldn't be turned on. I suggest the hotel conducts facility checks before guests check in. The toilet model and its placement were incompatible. The toilet had several buttons, but because they were on the left side, and there was only a small trash can's width between the left side and the wall, it was impossible to see the labels or operate them. Let alone the elderly trying to operate it by touch, even an adult would have to squat down to see the labels and operate it. The triple room stated that one of the beds was a sofa bed. However, this sofa bed was not very comfortable and had a significant sinking feeling. Hope for improvement. Summary. It wasn't as good as another B&B we stayed at in Yangshuo. We stayed in a triple room on the third floor there, with both mountain and garden views visible, which I would highly recommend if you like that. A big brand still provides a more reliable experience. For the same price point, I might explore other options.
