We stayed here for two nights and it felt like visiting family :-) The hosts were so heart-warming and caring and did everything to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We can totally recommend Shangsharuoshui Homestay and we will definitely come back. The hotel is brand-new and beautifully designed. The room was well equipped and perfectly clean. All amenities were provided. For the second day we were asked about our wishes for breakfast. The hosts also organised a reliable and cheaper taxi to Huangshan North. Location couldn't be better, very quiet and just 2 min walk to the moon pond. Again, it's hard to imagine finding hosts which are more friendly and generous than at this place. What a truly remarkable stay ❤️ Thanks again for the fare-well gifts!

The location is excellent . Right by the Moon Pond . The owners are super helpful and responsive . They helped us to bring our luggages to the accomodation from South Gate . I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a genuine stay in Hongcun . 5/5!

Environment: Located within the scenic area, about a 2-minute walk from South Lake and a 5-minute walk from Moon Pond, provided you don't get lost. Staying within the scenic area is recommended to avoid crowds and explore at your own pace. Facilities: Decent. The showerhead has a water spray issue and needs repair. It's a guesthouse converted from a traditional folk house; those with light sleep might not like it. Cleanliness: Pretty good, no odor, clean and soft beds. Service: The owner is incredibly kind and helpful; her emotional support is top-notch. A large part of my high rating goes to her.

The room is right next to the moon marsh. It is very convenient to go out and take pictures in the morning and evening when there are few tourists. The owner's own breakfast shop is also nearby, and the breakfast wontons are generous and delicious. The boss and his wife are very nice. The lady boss is very enthusiastic and makes people feel happy. Drinking water is provided with boiled water and bottled mineral water. Clothes can be dried in the yard. All in all highly recommended.

I went to Hongcun in the off-season. I visited the village during the day and stayed here at night. I lived here safely and had a good meal. When the weather was sunny, the floor-to-ceiling windows could watch the sunset. One day I saw the crescent moon. The female boss is kind, cheerful and talkative. The cats she raised (named Xiaohongcun), white rabbits and gray rabbits are very cute. The cats are well-behaved and the rabbits are alive and well-healed. There is a bonfire in the yard at night, hot tea, and cold winter is very suitable. I didn't do a strategy before I went. I received a call from her before I arrived at the high-speed rail station and could help arrange carpooling. After I arrived, there was a housekeeper to pick up and drop off at the bus station. After I checked in, I shared the strategy with me. I basically walked around according to her strategy and came to an in-depth tour. When she was not busy, she also took me to Tachuan, Lu Village, county and other places to wander around. It was a particularly good guide, really great! I wish her business is booming and prosperous.

The room is right at the south gate of the scenic area. I booked a king-size bed room with lake view. The Chinese style is antique. The hotel is in a good location and very quiet at night. The boss has a good attitude. He sent ice powder to the children and helped to light mosquito coils and close the windows at night. The stay experience is good, recommended!

I booked a B&B online, and it was a real surprise. The location is great, 2 minutes walk from Tsukinouma, with large windows, floor heating, air conditioning, projector, bathtub, smart toilet, and it's the first time I've seen a B&B with floor heating! Go to Oita! It was so comfortable that I simply booked another night. The lady boss was very enthusiastic and answered all my questions. Hahaha The village is not big, you can finish it in two or three hours, and the stinky mandarin fish is really addictive. Hahaha

The owner sent someone to pick me from the west gate after i was missing the way to the hotel and tired dragging the luggage on uneven stone road. The owner has surprised me with an upgraded room with a little garden and projector. The owner and staffs are very friendly and helpful too. The hotel is clean, modern and well design. It consists 2 buildings which are separated by the walkway. The location is perfect and short walking distance to west gate which is surrounded by restaurants and shops out of the hongcun scenic area. I had an enjoyable walk out of the scenic area after my early morning photography at 5am and before tourists have started flocking in. A stay in hungcun is highly recommended if you are planning to have a peaceful photography session without any tourists at all. I will not wake up such early at 5am without the recommendations given by the owner. You will expect the calm and clearer water. Do take note that the locals may wash their clothes thus interrupting the calmness of the water. I will definitely stay in this hotel again if going to hungcun again.

I seldom leave comments, but I think the boss uncle and boss lady auntie deserve a serious and good review! Absolutely a genuine review! I brought my parents and sister to Hongcun for fun, and chose a family room. The room was very clean, spacious and very clean. There were several things that impressed me very much. 1. The proprietress would contact us in advance before check-in, and she and my uncle would personally greet us at the entrance of the scenic area and help with the luggage. When we came to Hongcun, they helped to deliver the luggage to the parking lot. 2. After checking in, the proprietress introduced the culture and tourist attractions of Hongcun very attentively, and also drew a map by herself, which was very detailed. 3. The boss's family is very kind and makes me feel at home. They will seriously and objectively help recommend food, and also told me to go to the bar for a drink in the evening. When we asked for laundry, they gave us their washing machine and assembled a clothes hanger for us to dry the clothes. 4. My sister's things fell on the swing, including my own shoes, and they helped save them. They also delivered them to the entrance of the scenic spot and gave us souvenirs when we left, which made us feel very, very comfortable. The language is pale, you will know after you experience it, you will not be disappointed, highly recommended 😄

This is an awesome elegant place with great location. We travelled from Singapore and booked 3 rooms, and everyone is very happy and impressed with the stay. Need to call (or weixin) in advance to arrange for a buggy transport into the village, helpful if you have heavy luggage! The service staff are friendly and approachable. They are thoughtful in providing tea souvenir when checking out. What mars the great experience was that on my return, realized to my horror that there is no tea in the Tea-box. So, carried a tea metal box across the ocean for nothing! Did not expect such a service slip for such a top-class hotel. Regardless, will still highly recommend this place if you plan to stay in the village.
