I recently stayed at the Intercity Hotel Berlin Northern Area in Schönfeld. Here's my experience:
*Pros:*
- *Cleanliness*: The hotel was very clean and well-maintained.
- *Helpful Staff*: The staff were friendly and really helpful.
- *Peaceful Environment*: The hotel is in a calm, green area, perfect for those seeking tranquility.
- *Free Transportation Card*: The hotel provides a transportation card for free bus and metro travel during your stay.
*Cons:*
- *Limited Dining Options*: No supermarkets or restaurants are nearby.
*Practical Info:*
- *Late-Night Airport Transfers*: If you have a late-night flight, consider taking a taxi (around €15 from the hotel to the airport) since public transport might not be available.
- *Recommended Ride-Hailing*: Bolt is a affordable option for late-night rides.
*Recommendation:*
This hotel is ideal for travelers seeking a relaxing stay near the airport with easy access to the city. The staff's helpfulness and peaceful surroundings make it a great choice. Just plan ahead for late-night airport transfers.
Great to literally WALK here from the terminal after arriving late in the evening and getting my luggage even later. The Wifi page seems to suggest that the free internet won't be reliable compared to paid premium options, but I used it for a video call and had no issue ; ) Also, tap water is perfectly fine in Berlin, and the mini-boiler in the room made it even ”safer” and enjoyable. Other than this, clean and nicely arranged room with very useful and potent hair drier. I was worried about hearing flights departing in the morning, but it was all perfectly quiet : )
The hotel is conveniently close to the BER T1 entrance hall.
We arrive by train for the night to catch a flight next early morning. Walking distance is below 5 min.
Out room was exceptionally clean, looks very modern and had - to my surprise - excellent soundproofing.
Also the bathroom and shower were very clean.
From the noise of the airplanes is very few to hear. We
Also very clean was the spa/sauna area.
It's a mixed sauna and open til 22:00.
Restaurant is in the hotel, a 24/7 Rewe supermarket in the BER entrance hall.
Great stay for one night.
The self-service check-in was confusing, mainly because Ctrip did not send the check-in code. Fortunately, the remedy was timely and I did not have to wait too long. It was still a distance from the airport, which was somewhat inconvenient to catch the plane. The room was not big, but it was well-equipped. The three beds were clearly arranged. It was also a good experience.
Unfortunately, the staff in the restaurant/at breakfast were more concerned with the guest
- leaving on time (when I entered I was told that I would be arriving 10 minutes before breakfast ended. I just shouldn't say later that I didn't know that)
- or not disturbing anyone (my husband wanted lunch and there was no staff to greet him. So he sat down at an unreserved table himself. The staff came and said that he was doing everything wrong and couldn't sit there. When I asked why and how he was doing it right, the answer was not particularly nice. But he was allowed to stay seated).
A third not so nice experience: When I asked about the business center listed on Trip.com for working on a laptop, my husband had to pay 100 euros for 1 day - it was probably confused with a meeting room. The evening before, reception said that he could also sit in the empty restaurant. When he wanted to do this in the morning, the restaurant staff denied this.
Unfortunately not such a nice stay for us.
The surrounding area was quiet, the room was clean and tidy, the two people stayed, and started to have a pillow and a small quilt. After calling the front desk, it was quickly sent. Compared with the holiday Inn I lived a few days ago, the elevator does not need to swipe the card is not safe enough, there is no electric kettle, no USB charging port, so although it is a four-star hotel, there are improvements in management details and decoration details. It is estimated that it is also a long time.
Super beautiful and sweet room. You have to hear a train rush in the night 2-3, but not really dramatic. The breakfast was almost empty and the coffee machine was not going, but it was possible to make it at the reception because they have a machine there. The lady behind the trees could check in as well as no German. We can't, however, english many certainly. If I book a hotel in DE, I would like a German-speaking person as a contact point for all cases. But € 100 for 2 people with breakfast and parking (10€) very good. Please return
Apart from the location not close to the center of Berlin, there is nothing to criticize the hotel. If you choose to take public transportation, you can go to the nearest big station Mahlow. If you are traveling by car, the car can be parked in a public parking space next to the hotel. It is not recommended to park anywhere. I was issued a ticket. Although it was only €15, I only paid a fine online. The surrounding environment is quite beautiful.
The hotel is very new and clean! I liked it much, located very near to BER airport. The breakfast is merged in the lobby, not so easy to find a seat in the busy time. But the breakfast choices are ok.
It’s to far to walk to the airport, but you may either use the public bus in front of the hotel, which is cheap and convenient or scan a code at the hotel registration and book for the hotel bus. Unfortunately, the public bus goes only once every hour.
Hotel Maxx is very well located. You live very centrally and are very mobile thanks to the free use of buses and trams.
Breakfast was very good and the staff were very helpful.
The only thing we didn't like was the thoroughness of the room cleaning. The bedspreads lay strangely in a heap. Wasn't ****** either.
Then a small towel was taken away from us and the shower template was missing.
The young men should be shown how the German standard of room cleaning is.
Otherwise all employees were very friendly.

CCoulson-The hotel has an elegant environment, clean and tidy rooms, complete facilities and warm and thoughtful service. The front desk was efficient and check-in and check-out were convenient. The location is convenient and the transportation is convenient, suitable for business and leisure travel. The overall experience is very satisfactory and worth recommending.
LLucien P. FantkeFantastic location. Friendly service. Good breakfast. But: internet super slow if working at all. No flexibility in bike rental. Staff tried to be helpful but wasn’t very knowledgeable in certain areas. Free welcome apples were a nice touch. Room itself could have been cleaner. Broken outside window. Tv not properly working due to internet issues. Water wasn’t refilled. Had to ask for refill during our 3 day stay (even we booked the luxury suite) especially on a Sunday when all shops are closed that isn’t very cool. Staff was very friendly about it but I would prefer service that doesn’t wait for me to ask for things.

JJoachimI had asked the accommodation whether I needed to reserve a parking space. Unfortunately, there was no answer. Once there, I spent many minutes in front of the barrier to the hotel's own parking space, only to be told rudely at reception that there was a red sign on the barrier indicating that the parking space was occupied. After me came another ”blind person” who hadn't seen this clear sign...
Apart from that, almost everything was OK, but nothing more! The room was modernly furnished, big enough and very quiet. The beds were comfortable and the shower was a good size. The breakfast was pretty good in terms of selection and quality. Unfortunately, the breakfast room was WAY too small. This means that you have to go looking for a table in the morning. If you're lucky, you have to clear it yourself. We were there for 2 days and we never saw any of the staff wipe the tables.... Service doesn't seem to be that important there.
