Location: From a pier to the island, the whole phone communication transfer, the location is very good, very close to the flying temple
Service: People are very nice, you can help book wherever you go, the price is slightly higher, but the whole car, the service is far more clear than yourself
View: very beautiful sea view, good value for money
Dining: Slightly inferior
Very good value for money, recommended
The iconic location and legendary charm of the Old Cataract speak for themselves, and the quality of the Sofitel Legend brand is absolutely top-notch. During my trip to Egypt, I stayed at several excellent hotels, including Mena House, Rixos, and Waldorf Astoria, but for me, the rooms here were by far the most impressive. The balcony was incredible, offering breathtaking, panoramic views of the Nile. The entire hotel is simply stunning. The service was also exceptional. The only minor drawback was perhaps the somewhat limited breakfast selection. Otherwise, everything else was perfect!
Absolutely a five-star review! Located diagonally opposite the Old Falls Hotel, the terrace offers stunning views, and the owner is incredibly friendly and responsible! Two things stand out: First, around 2 AM, I texted the owner to arrange a ferry to the other side at 3 AM, and he replied within two minutes, having already made arrangements! Second, my sister left her pearl necklace on the public terrace while enjoying the Nile River view the previous evening, and the next morning we found it neatly arranged! Truly honest and kind! The following evening, we witnessed a local Luwak wedding – a joyous and authentic traditional experience, a delightful surprise!
It’s a 2 sided coin with this hotel, some positives and some negatives in all areas. Location is very close to the Nile river and train station which is convenient but the balcony of our hotel room looked out on some garbage tipping sights that were always crazy busy with construction, wild dogs barking, and Islamic prayers blaring from speakers until the early hours. The service at reception was okay depending on who was there at the time and they did organise the trip to Abu Simbel on a day’s notice. The wifi never worked but the room was clean and comfortable enough.
Overall, not bad price for the room - reconsider using if you have trouble sleeping with loud noises or need wifi.
The room is large, clean and tidy. The shower water is the largest since arriving in Egypt, which is a good comment. Google Maps will misguide navigation, so be sure to keep your eyes open to find it.
The homestay is located next to the Elephant Island Pier, and you can walk there as soon as you get off the boat. The transportation is convenient.
The sanitary conditions are very good, the room is clean and tidy, and there are hair dryers, shower gel and shampoo. There is a small living room on the first floor for rest and tea.
The boss is very nice. He took the initiative to contact us and came to the pier to greet us and help with the luggage. He made fruit tea for us, and on the second night he sent us freshly squeezed mango juice and a bracelet made by his daughter. The English is very good and we can communicate smoothly.
If I come to Aswan again, I will stay here again.
Ubicado frente embarcadero hacia corniche Aswan, ventilador de techo y aire acondicionado, habitación limpia y tranquila, relación calidad precio excelente
The location is excellent, right on the Nile River. However, the rooms are quite small. The breakfast restaurant was good, offering outdoor seating right by the Nile to enjoy your meal. A ferry to Elephantine Island is conveniently located right next to the hotel, which was very handy.
I booked it temporarily because of the change in the itinerary.
Tolip is a chain of five-star hotels in Egypt. Although the decoration style and facilities are relatively old, it is already considered good in the local area. The price is also very cost-effective. There are rooms with Nile views. It is only a one-minute walk away. It is very good.
The check-in process became a bit unpleasant as their stated policies did not match what was written in our trip.com booking confirmation. This included check-in time and number of guests for the room. We included our children and even had their ages listed in the confirmation. Upon check-in we were told that it was only a room for two adults. We were then instructed to pay extra for one child. Policies should be conveyed clearly when booking so we can know what to expect.
Otherwise, the room had a beautiful view and the kids enjoyed the large pool. The breakfast buffet had a great selection.

JjzycnThis is a very contradictory B&B hotel that I don't know if it is worth recommending. Its shortcomings and advantages are very prominent. It is suitable for Internet celebrities to make photos (the following photos are all original photos without retouching), but it is not suitable for anyone who has certain requirements for ”accommodation” itself. If you can find any cheap + clean + similar scenery alternative hotel, it is recommended to change it, but if it is just for taking pictures and scenery, it may be ranked at the top in Nubian Village.
First of all, you have to be able to tolerate:
1. The hotel price is not cost-effective in the peak season, and the B&B offers the price of a five-star hotel.
2. Poor room facilities, rough-style furniture and narrow rooms, worrying bed sheets, bathroom shower water overflowing and drainage is useless, no slippers, toothbrushes, hair dryers (phone front desk can provide).
3. The breakfast is self-service and extremely simple and unpalatable, unlike some people who commented on the set and inexplicably praised it.
4. Tolerate or pay more to continue to tolerate the complaints of the chartered driver to drive into Nubian Village, and then contact the hotel by yourself in the middle of the night to change to a three-wheeled motorcycle in the deserted and dark mountains for 15 minutes to doubt life and reach the mountaintop hotel.
5. Other prices are very unreasonable. We originally wanted to book dinner for the New Year's Eve party, but it cost 100 US dollars per person...
What did we get here?
1. The balcony of the room can see the unbeatable sunrise on the west bank of the Nile. We witnessed the first light of 2025 here at 6 am.
2. The various poses in the cultural buildings of the Nubian Village are very photogenic.
3. The desert next to the hotel is very photogenic.
4. A very special cultural experience of a group of tourists jumping up and down the mountain in a row of three-wheeled vehicles.
5. The hotel service staff is relatively friendly. Finally, it is explained that Egypt is not a country where tipping is allowed. Carrying luggage is a basic service of any hotel in their country. No one asked for tips during the entire stay.

MM531559****The location is excellent, just above the Old Falls, about a 5-minute walk. Feryal Park is a 10-minute walk, and the harbor for sailing is a short walk along the park path. A taxi ride back is convenient. The facilities are a bit old, but the cleanliness is good. The bathroom had a slight odor. The large platform outside the room offers limited privacy, but it's nice for watching the sunset. For a few hundred dollars, it's worth it. The breakfast is decent, and there's an ATM in the hotel for cash withdrawals.
GGuest UserWhat you see is what you get, very cute place. The whole village is super cute in dopamine style! Breakfast is delicious, you can eat on the balcony and the scenery is particularly good, directly see the Nile! The sister of the homestay also took me to touch the little crocodile for free! Super experience! This small village is especially suitable for hanging out and relaxing for a leisurely day!
PPuladeaimitazhuangjiaA very good value hotel! Upon check-in, they consider the dryness of guests and offer three drinks: one with isatis root, one with plum flavor, and one with a sweet and sour flavor that's incredibly delicious. After check-in, a driver will drive you to your room. I had originally thought that the nicer hotels in Aswan were expensive, so I planned to book a more modest hotel to make do with my visit to Abu Simbel the next day. However, this hotel far exceeded my expectations. The scenery is stunning, with direct views of the Nile. Since we had to go to Abu Simbel early that morning and couldn't have breakfast, the front desk staff prepared a takeout breakfast for us. The only downside is that it's about a 20-minute drive from the city center.

GGuest UserAmazing time ,basic rooms ,but clean beds towels. Hot shower and the best view but 100% of the credit for our amazing time goes, to helma the manager and his staff especially khalid who was there for everything we needed , Helmy went above and beyond driving us to the sights for less than.a taxi , but the most amazing was. The Nile under our Balcony full of. Feluka boats to take you to ancient temples and delicious waterside cafes and historic islands this hotel might look nothing.but if you want the true Nubian experience of aswanth8s 8s the place for you ,basic breakfast of bread honey eggs and cheese with tomatoes for the price amazing ,, Linda and ivy uk x
GGuest UserI booked this accommodation when I stayed in Aswan as a stopover on my way to the Abu Simbel Temples.
Although it's located far from the city center, there were no particular issues with my stay.
The staff were very kind and took care of everything, from booking tours to late check-in and preparing breakfast for us to take home.
The room I stayed in was also very clean, and the shower
had plenty of hot water.
It also had air conditioning, so I was able to stay comfortably.
I highly recommend it if you're staying in Aswan.
