I love it staff is really friendly, rooms are clean and spotless, breaktfast is delicious in mine and my bfs opinion better then premier inn and most places, close to the beach, beautiful views, and there's a shop just round the corner if needed, also right next to town, lovely hotel, also there's a guy who makes candles and he's actually really talented , there all different themes but so cool for example: dogs, santa, Budda's, etc and they all have such lush smells totally worth buying.
In there reception they have a nice comfy loungy bit instead of horrible uncomfortable chairs they have super comfy sofas, and a big TV screen to, I highly recommend this hotel.

The room is as big as the photo. It is a lot bigger than the average British hotel. The hotel is only six or seven minutes drive from the Needles. Free parking. The owner is a French. Very hospitable. The breakfast in the morning is super delicious and is cooked to order.
The receptionist was very helpful to us. She guide all way through our check in, as we have a hard time using the self service kiosk for checking in. They also lots of choices for breakfast buffet, and the location is just in front of the sea which is very relaxing and convenient to us.
The hotel is lovely, staff are friendly and helpful. The room we had needed to be updated really. It was very dark and the decor was dated. Bed was comfy.

Sitting on the waters edge in Cowes, Best Western New Holmwood Hotel is perfectly placed to give guests unrivalled panoramic views of The Solent. Were all about high standards here, whether were deciding on new decor, adding finishing touches to our comfortable rooms or serving up a treat in our restaurant! A pre-booked courtesy car from Red Funnel high speed service is available to get your getaway going, and the hotel is located just three miles from Osbourne House, 12 miles from Tennyson Monument and a double-take away from stunning scenery across the sea...complete with boats, cruise liners and yachts for added interest. Enjoy your stay.
Personally, I think the food in the restaurant is not very good, it is very average. There are better restaurants nearby with affordable prices, such as The Crab, so it is not recommended to eat in the hotel restaurant
Picture 1 is from a restaurant, with a small orange juice, it cost me 26 pounds
Picture 2 is The Crab's accidentally discovered treasure restaurant. It's really delicious! Only £16!

RRebeccaI had a lovely 2 night stay here, staff were all friendly and helpful, nothing was too much for them! Really lovely hotel, room was perfect, had a great view too! Will definately book here again when i come to stay on the island.
GGuest UserI have attempted to reply direct to the Highdown but the business card has the wrong email address so will have to complete your review. I often feel that comments on these sites can be unnecessarily harsh for the businesses concerned and I would hate to give the wrong impression.. This is the third time we have stayed at the Highdown, the second time in Room 2. Despite the images on the website this room has not been refurbished and, although very clean, is shabby. The bathroom has cracked tiles and a very weak, less than warm shower. The toilet has scale in it and the handle doesn't work properly.
The cooked breakfast was good, although only one slice of toast. No one came to ask if we wanted more, Despite being mentioned on the menu no preserves were offered. All guests commented on this. Fresh fruit was on the side with a choice of cereals but, in the three days we were there the fruit was not replaced despite being very overripe and inedible.
On one morning we and two other guests were squeezed onto two small tables right against the wall. When the third set of guests came in they unwittingly banged the door against my elbow. On the final morning we had a better table. I also didn't like that a dog was allowed to wander in and out of the dining room and kitchen.
LLa La DeborahI stayed here for three days, and the transportation is convenient near the hotel. The hotel is opposite Ryde Quay and is very easy to find. Moreover, the bus stop is diagonally opposite the hotel, and the transportation is convenient. The hotel's breakfast is great, but the staff who clean the room are very unhygienic. They put the cups used by the first-hand guests on the table for the second-hand guests.
GGuest UserThe hotel was convenient and clean, unfortunately the staff didn’t consider the occupants privacy or security having left the patio doors wide open tkk on both of the rooms we occupied either following cleaning the room or after entering due to a false fire alarm which at one point left us thinking the room had been broken into and possessions taken.

GGuest UserExcellent service. Lots of friendly, helpful staff. Choice of menu options for both breakfast and dinner extensive and a la carte. Evening entertainment was a piano soloist and really lovely. Classic bedroom choice was very comfortable. The classic choice of room decor is slightly worn and facilities outdated but non the less charming.

PPapaton3This hotel is located just by the Shanklin beach and it’s handy for the Shanklin railway station. The staff is really friendly and breakfast is pretty good. More importantly, the room is cozy and comfy with beautiful seaside views. Highly recommend.
