ReidoIt was my first trip to Kampot so I searched for a hotel which was close to the city center, with
good reviews, spacious rooms, at a good price. Chateau Kampot fit perfectly with what I was
looking for. The hotel was newly opened in the beginning of 2026. I like the colonial style
architecture combined with a very modern design. I especially liked the arched wall openings throughout the interior and exterior of the building. I booked the Executive Suite for my 4 night stay.
The check in process upon my arrival was very smooth and pleasant. After check in, the
person at the reception (front) desk provided me with a map of the city and pointed out several recommended places to visit.
My room was very spacious and ultra clean. It came with a couple of lounge chairs to relax in and a nice balcony with a table and chairs to enjoy the fresh air and views of the city. My favorite part of the whole room was the bed. The linens were so crisp and clean; the mattress had an additional pad which felt like you were sleeping on a cloud. I travel quite a bit and sometimes stay at luxury hotels and the bed at Chateau Kampot was one of the best I slept in.
I enjoyed the very nice pool which included a jacuzzi and a small peaceful water fall. The pool
was long enough to swim some laps for exercise. There was a small fitness center with
dumbbells, weightlifting bench, and 2 cardio machines to keep my exercise routine going
during my stay. There is also a nice spa in the hotel with massages and body scrubs & wraps
at a reasonable price. The hotel also gives you a complimentary 30 minute massage in addition
to 30% discounts on other spa services at the time of my stay.
The breakfast was well prepared and delicious. You select off the menu with either Western or
Asian offerings. My favorite was the eggs Benedict; the fact that it was done perfectly shows the skill of the chef. The coffee brewed with local beans was also of excellent quality.
The staff members at the hotel are very professional and customer focused. The gentleman at the reception desk were always friendly and pleasant. They were also eager to help with anything to make your stay in Kampot enjoyable. One gentleman at the reception desk
arranged a tuk tuk driver for a day tour of Bokor Mountain. The driver was so friendly and
spoke perfect English which made for a wonderful day.
This hotel is family-owned and focused on providing their guests with the best experience.
During my stay, two family members on separate occasions approached me to see how my stay was going and asked for feedback on how they could improve their hotel and services. This personal interaction with their guests display their desire to make their hotel the best it could be.
I highly recommend the Chateau Kampot and will definitely stay there again for my next trip to
Kampot.

VikkiC19This hotel is okay. I found the location to be good and just a short walk to the main busy areas. The young lads who work there are lovely and always greet you when entering or leaving which is lovely. Where this place fell short for me was I had a leak in the bathroom. The water was dripping out onto the floor constantly. When I told them the bathroom floor was full of water they didn’t seem concerned or interested in fixing the solution even after looking at it - I had to ask for a room change, it was not offered. None until next day which was fine but I had to then ask for a bucket to try and prevent having to walk through water every time I needed to use the toilet. I got one and it filled it very quickly. I got moved to another room next day and had no fridge - they put one in there for me after me asking. I stayed for 4 nights and no one came to sweep my floor or provide a new bath towel/ toilet roll. Also I asked about laundry and told it be done by afternoon the next day. I left a bag of clothes. Went to collect the ‘evening’ of the next day and my bag was just left under the reception counter not done. Not sure why no-one didn’t ask each other why is this bag still here? It had been longer than 24h. I had to be up and on a bus out of Kampot the next morning :-( I have scored well because they change me to another room but I had to ask for it. That pipe need fixing - someone could slip and hurt themselves.

Guest UserFantastic stay at Suorsdei Sawadee. The best place to stay in Kampot by a mile. Insane value for money. The staff are lovely, clean your room daily and the rooms are like a 4 star hotel with the most comfortable bed

I costed me $38 and I stayed here for a night. I came here as a solo traveler and booked a double room with balcony. There was a big pool on the first floor. The location of the hotel was decent, although the road to the hotel was pretty rocky and deserted, kind of in the middle of nowhere and I’m unsure of how safe it is during the night seeing as there’s not many lamp posts.
The room is great and spacious. The bathroom was spacious and the room was nicely decorated. You can watch YouTube on the TV but like most hotels the smart TV doesn’t really work properly so Netflix didn’t work. The amenities they offered were enough, they provided a refrigerator, hair dryer and all the other necessities that a standard hotel would provided.
Although the bathroom would flood due to how far the drain was from the shower head, you can just move the shower head closer to the drain so it would not flood the whole bathroom. Everything was clean. But there was a minor mosquito problem when I woke up in the morning. Bathroom door lock doesn’t really work properly, butyou just have to pull it a bit harder.
The service was great, the staff were helpful and communicative. I got an avocado toast and milk coffee for brunch at the restaurant, it was good.
I would come back here when I return to Kampot!

I recently stayed at Kampot Green Mango Bungalow for two nights and it was truly a memorable experience. The bungalows are located about 7 km from the center of Kampot, with a taxi or tuk-tuk ride to town costing around 12,000–14,000 riel.
What really sets this place apart is the staff — especially the owners. They are simply incredible: tireless, generous, and welcoming beyond words. The care and attention they put into their service made our stay feel personal and truly special.
The accommodation itself is comfortable and peaceful, providing a relaxing environment after a day exploring Kampot. The bungalow I stayed in is supposedly the most expensive and “premium” option they offer. While it is spacious, the cleanliness could be improved: there was noticeable dust, cobwebs on headboards and bedside tables, and spiders in the bathroom and on the ceiling. This is the only negative aspect, and it’s worth noting that better cleaning would make the experience fully match the premium price.
Overall, despite this small issue, my stay was wonderful. Whether you’re looking for a quiet retreat or a friendly, homey stay, Kampot Green Mango Bungalow is highly recommended — especially because of the owners’ warmth and dedication

Great atmosphere and staff are very friendly, helped us rent a bike as we weren't in town centre.
Pool is lovely, hot tub doesn't actually get hot though.

Montagne Residence offers a comfortable stay with some standout features, especially for travelers who value space and style. The rooms are impressively large, giving plenty of space to relax, unpack, and feel at home rather than cramped like in many hotels. The overall design of the property is modern and clean, with a minimalist aesthetic that makes the environment feel fresh and well-maintained.
One of the highlights is the swimming pool, which adds a nice touch for relaxing after a long day. The surrounding area complements the modern design of the residence, creating a pleasant atmosphere to unwind.
However, there are a couple of drawbacks worth noting. The air conditioning can be quite weak, which may make the room less comfortable, especially in hot weather. Additionally, there tend to be quite a lot of mosquitoes around the property, which can be inconvenient if you're sensitive to bites or planning to spend time outdoors.
Overall, Montagne Residence is a good option if you prioritize spacious rooms and modern design, but improvements in cooling and pest control would make the experience much better.
