Tortoise Liberation Pond

Tortoise pond is one of the main attraction in Kek Lok Si Temple. It is the first part of the temple - the liberation pond, traditionally people liberate animals to gain merit. There are hundreds of tortoise in the pond and are of several species, including the red-eared slider turtles, the Chinese pond tortoises and the Golden Coin turtles. Visitors can buy water convolvulus from vendor nearby to feed to tortoise. But I feel pitty to the tortoise. I want them to let go. I think the space is too small for them.
