🇹🇭➡️🇰🇭 Cross-border travel from Thailand to Cambodia by land✈️🌏

I tried crossing the border from Bangkok to Siem Reap by land! It takes longer than flying, but it's a great local experience, so I recommend it✍️ Bangkok (Thailand) → Poipet border → Siem Reap (Cambodia) The main means of transportation are the following two patterns👇 1. Long-distance bus or van (minibus) 2. Train + taxi or bus transfer (for advanced users) ⸻ 🚍 This is what I used! 🟡 Minibus from Bangkok to Poipet border (about 4-5 hours) 🟡 Cross the border on foot (immigration procedures) 🟡 From the Cambodian side, take a shared taxi or a pre-arranged bus to Siem Reap (about 2-3 hours) ⸻ 🧾 Points at the border ✔️ Leaving Thailand: Relatively smooth (Aranyaprathet side) ✔️ Entering Cambodia: Visa required! (Tourist visa: around $30) ✔️ You can apply for a visa online (e-Visa) or get a visa on arrival at the border ✔️ Be careful of local "visa arrangement agents"! They may charge you more than the regular price... ⸻ 💡Points to note & advice • If you leave early in the morning, the border will be empty and smooth✨ • Immigration will be crowded, so give yourself plenty of time • It's very hot during the day! Hydration is essential • There are currency exchange offices, but the exchange rate is not good, so it's a good idea to have some US dollars with you in advance • There are many people who seem to be "helping" around the border, but you can basically just ignore them! ⸻ 🧳 Estimated travel time and cost • Travel time: about 7-9 hours • Cost: about 1,500-2,000 baht (about 6,000-8,000 yen) in total ⸻ 🌏 The appeal of the trip By plane, it goes by in a flash, but by road, you can feel the sensation of "crossing a country" and it's a valuable experience!
