Bergamo: the city on the hill

Bergamo, Italy, is a hidden gem that exceeded my expectations. The city's rich history is evident in its stunning architecture and preserved medieval old town, Città Alta. Walking its cobblestone streets and exploring Piazza Vecchia was like stepping back in time. The views from the city's highpoint, the Rocca, are breathtaking. Bergamo's culinary scene is exceptional, with delicious local specialties like casoncelli and polenta. The café culture is vibrant, making it a joy to savor an espresso while people-watching. The warm and friendly locals added to the charm. I also visited the Accademia Carrara to admire its art collection. Bergamo is a captivating blend of culture, history, and Italian charm. I highly recommend this picturesque city.
