Chengdu｜Pandas and snow scenes meet unexpectedly at the Dujiangyan branch of the Panda Research Base

Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base Dujiangyan Breeding and Releasing Research Center - Panda Valley was established in 2006 and officially started construction in May 2010. In terms of functional positioning, the 'Releasing Research Center' as a branch of the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, will become a bridge connecting translocation protection and in-situ protection. The construction requirements and principles of the rewilding center: restore and maintain the original natural ecological environment of the giant panda, adopt advanced ecological protection planning concepts, and implement construction in steps. Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base Dujiangyan Breeding and Releasing Research Center - Panda Valley, located in Baima Village, Yutang Town, Dujiangyan, about 50 kilometers away from Chengdu. The overall planning area of the release center is 2004 mu, with a planned investment of 300 million yuan. After the completion of the rewilding research ecological area of 1.4 square kilometers, it will accommodate 30~40 giant pandas and 50~100 (only) red pandas and other companion wild animals. In May 2010, the release center was successfully laid, and in December 2011, the first phase of the project was completed. After expert on-site inspection and acceptance, it preliminarily has the conditions for the transition training and release of giant pandas.
