Pingshan Canyon: Amidst tranquility, hidden wonders abound, and beyond the fantastical lies the universe

Heaven has bestowed special favor, creating the poetic and picturesque landscape of Enshi. Look, without intending, a beautiful fissure has been carved out at Hefeng Pingshan—the Pingshan Canyon. Pingshan Canyon, known as 'China's Sipadan', with its sheer cliffs, peculiar peaks, strange rocks, cascading waterfalls, flowing waters, and drifting clouds, nature's marvelous design narrates the spiritual and picturesque charm of Pingshan. Trek into the valley Yungang Plank Road: Following the mountain's contour, suspended in the air, clinging to the cliffside; surrounded by towering peaks and verdant screens like paintings; overlooking the circling green stream, misty like gauze, and the light boats on the clear water. Gangbu Sky Ladder: Rugged and steep, descending to the valley floor, looking back at the Yungang Plank Road is breathtaking. Occasionally, overhanging rocks block the path, necessitating a bowing posture to pass through. Ada Gathering and Parting Center: A deep valley plateau, a pool of clear water, crystal clear to the bottom, with forests reflected upside down, boats floating by. It's still about timing and fate; a light rain all the way, stopping only at the valley bottom, the sunlight unable to penetrate the clouds to reach the deep valley, a thin mist over the water, lacking the floating spectacle, yet entering a misty rain fairyland. Qianxun Waterfall, Huanyun Bridge: The river is blocked by protruding rocks at the beach mouth, forming a series of small waterfalls called 'Qianxun Waterfall'. From Huanyun Bridge, watch the waterfall, see the splashing water, listen to the waterfall's whisper, rest at the Mo Lan Pavilion, and reflect on the journey's hardships. Boat out of the canyon Boarding at Peach Blossom Crossing, slowly traveling between the mountains and waters, the cliffs still towering, the vegetation still lush, the lake water still emerald green; The mountains stretch across, seemingly no path, the waterway turns and reveals the peaks; High cliffs stand close, the crevices curved like bowstrings, only a sliver of blue sky visible, known as 'One Line Sky', not feeling the full sunlight, just a hint of coolness; After passing the 'Five-Foot Gate', it seems suddenly bright, but still moving slowly, looking up at the joint of the rock walls, a crescent moon appears, indifferent to the phases, considered eternal; Vines climb the walls on both sides, moss crisscrosses, like water pouring down, called 'Moss Waterfall'. Disembarking and walking on the trail, observing the rolling Long Dam's momentum, passing through the Nuoyuan Cave stairs to the Du Yu Building exit. Regrettably, the popular heart-shaped photo spot was overlooked (not found). Although the weather was not perfect, without the clear sunny day and the anticipated floating boats, the Pingshan Canyon after the rain appeared even more delicate. If the Enshi Grand Canyon is majestic, like a strong and powerful man, then the quiet water, gentle mist, and subtly applied colors of Pingshan Canyon are like a graceful and charming beauty! Tips: The journey from Enshi city to Pingshan Canyon is 150 kilometers, about 2 and a half hours, mostly on highways but with many tunnels, the longest being 4 kilometers. Drive directly to Hefeng Pingshan Canyon for navigation. After exiting the highway, there are about 25 kilometers of provincial roads, still mostly curves and slopes. After exiting Du Yu Building, it costs 5 yuan per person to take a car back to the scenic area entrance, to retrieve the car and return. The whole tour takes about 4 hours. For multi-day trips, pay attention to the weather forecast, look for sunny days, only at noon can you get the effect of the floating boats.
