Lanlin Pavilion Hotel in Shaxi: Stay in a place with a breeze

This time in Shaxi, I stayed at the Jianchuan Shaxi Lanlin Pavilion Hotel. I am a regular customer of Lanlin Pavilion, and I almost always stay at their place when I visit the ancient city of Dali. The service and facilities of this well-established hotel are very much on point. This time, the Shaxi branch was even more of a pleasant surprise: The hotel is non-enclosed, naturally integrated into the residential area of the ancient town, and is divided into three courtyards, each with a beautiful layout that makes every snapshot look like a masterpiece. The attic, fish pond, and greenery make the courtyards feel not like a hotel but rather filled with the warmth and liveliness of a local dwelling. Our room even came with a quaint little courtyard, where sitting and daydreaming was extremely comfortable. The room has underfloor heating and good lighting, making it warm at night. The only downside is probably the unavoidable noise from the neighborhood, but Shaxi is better than Dali in that it quiets down around bedtime. In the morning, crossing the old street already dotted with a few tourists, we went to the hotel restaurant for breakfast, where the taste of the rice noodles was particularly good. Outside the restaurant, there is an ancient tree where a family of magpies has made its home, and with the morning sunlight, I instantly understood what is meant by 'peaceful years'. There are two Lanlin Pavilion hotels in Shaxi, the other being the Lanlin Pavilion Garden Hotel, which is more business-oriented. Both hotels are conveniently located, just a street away from the ancient stage, and further down is the Yujin Bridge.
