The Lanzhou Guoxue Museum, located at the southern foot of Jiuzhou Platform in Anning District, Lanzhou City, was established based on the cultural heritage of Gaolan County Wen Temple. Its purpose is to promote the essence of Guoxue and inherit Chinese civilization. This open museum collects Guoxue classics, calligraphy and painting classics, literary masterpieces, and sculptures, etc. It has a rich and diverse content, profound heritage, and shows a high taste of art. Today, it has become a famous cultural tourism spot in Lanzhou City with multiple functions such as display, sightseeing, education, and leisure. The predecessor of the Lanzhou Guoxue Museum can be traced back to the Gaolan County Wen Temple. The original site of Gaolan County Wen Temple is located on the south side of Yanshou Lane in the middle section of Zhangye Road in Chengguan District, Lanzhou City today. During the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, it was the old house of Jingni Hou Zhang Yong. Later, in the fifth year of Qianlong (1740), Gansu Xunfu Yuan Zhan became the Gaolan County Wen Temple. In the forty-first year of Qianlong (1776), Gaolan County magistrate Kang Jiyuan and others proposed to set up a local official donation silver Xingwen Society in the county Wen Temple to provide funding support for local scholars to participate in the township examination and the meeting examination. By the end of the Qing Dynasty, the number of scholars who passed the examination here reached forty-eight, becoming the best among all counties in the province. In 2002, a major protection project was carried out in Gaolan County Wen Temple, located on the new site at the southern foot of Jiuzhou Platform. The new site covers an area of 12,000 square meters and the building area exceeds 1,500 square meters. In the protection project, the layout was carried out according to the characteristics of the Wen Temple architecture, and the Lingxing Gate, Pan Pool, Ji Gate, Minglun Hall, Dacheng Hall, Zunjing Pavilion, and Chongsheng Temple were set up along the central axis. In addition to the main buildings, there are also ritual music pavilions and curved corridors on both sides, making the entire Wen Temple full of solemn and solemn atmosphere, and the design of Lingxing Gate and Ji Gate is unique. At the same time, buildings such as Minglun Hall, East and West Wing Rooms, Dacheng Hall, Zunjing Pavilion, and Chongsheng Temple are all ancient buildings of the Qing Dynasty and have important historical value.
