Jokhang Temple is located in the center of Lhasa's old town and is a significant monastery in Tibetan Buddhism. Built by Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo, it boasts a history of over 1,300 years and is revered as a "holy site." As the most magnificent surviving architectural structure from the Tubo period in Tibet, Jokhang Temple not only pioneered the Tibetan flatland-style temple layout but also serves as the core of local religious activities. The central Shakyamuni Buddha Hall is known as "Nangkhor," the outer wall circle is "Barkhor," and the radiating streets form "Barkhor Street." Centered around Jokhang Temple, Potala Palace, Yaowang Mountain, and Ramoche Temple together form "Lingkhor," which are three classic pilgrimage routes for Tibetan devotees. Reservation Guide: Daily ticket reservations for the next day are open from 7:00 AM to 11:59 PM via the "Jokhang Temple Official Reservation" mini-program. Real-name registration is required, and valid personal identification must be provided. Each account is limited to purchasing one ticket. Seniors over 60, military personnel, and veterans can purchase tickets on-site with valid identification without prior reservation. Tickets and Opening Hours: Tickets are priced at 85 RMB per person, with timed entry required. Visitors must arrive within their reserved time slot to purchase tickets. Open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (previously, mornings were reserved for devotees, but now open to tourists). Important Notes: - Smoking, photography, and touching artifacts or murals are prohibited inside the temple. - Dress appropriately; shorts, skirts, and slippers are not allowed.
