| A border town full of Russian style. Geographically, Beihong Village is further north than the Arctic Village, making it the true northernmost village. Beihong Village is surrounded by mountains on three sides, with the Heilongjiang River running through the village. Due to historical reasons, most of the villagers are of Russian ethnicity. Beihong Village is not large, and its popularity is not as high as the Arctic Village, but it is worth a visit. Take a walk along the Binjiang Park, the river surface in winter becomes a good place for snow activities, where you can ride snowmobiles, play bumper cars with tires, and even freeze water. Along the river, rows of wooden houses come into view. The eaves are covered with thick snow, as if they have been painted white, and the chimneys are emitting wisps of cooking smoke. The windows under the eaves are covered with a thin film for wind protection and warmth. Wooden fences outline the shape of the yard, some yards are used for parking, some yards are stacked with hay, and some yards have snow shoveling tools. The streets are clean and tidy, occasionally a car drives by, occasionally a few horses run by, and after a brief hustle and bustle, there is a long silence. There is the northernmost outpost here, and you can also climb the northernmost viewing platform to overlook the village. If you have time, you can stay for a night and experience the large kang of the Northeast. Here, food and accommodation are in the same house, and three meals are eaten directly in the homestay, tasting authentic farmhouse joy.
