Moon-like experience @ Pinnacles Desert WA
#wheretogo
When in Perth Western Australia, one of my must-visits is The Pinnacles desert located in the Nambung National Park, about 200km drive (approximately 2 hours) from Perth city.
Exploring this geological wonder full of limestone structures is like a moon-like experience where you will feel like you’ve been transported to another world.
Really enjoyed this amazing park, it was well worth the visit. Nature lovers won’t want to miss this!
My rating of this attraction: 5 ⭐️ out of 5!
The Pinnacles Desert - Perth, Australia
The Pinnacles Desert in Perth is a unique and awe-inspiring natural wonder that is well worth a visit.
Located in the Nambung National Park, it features thousands of limestone pillars rising from the sand, creating an otherworldly landscape. What’s more, you can drive your way into the desert and marvel at these unusual rock spires up close!
It’s about two hours drive from Perth, and entry fees apply. The desert is open from 5:30am to 4:30pm daily, and I would recommend you to visit during the cooler months (April - September).

Abrolhos Islands Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)

About the Abrozos Islands: The Abu Rojos Islands are known as the last secrets of Western Australia and are known for their mystery, grandeur and purity. Ablojos means "open your eyes" in Spanish. There are a lot of reefs, and its name suggests that the crew should see the fairway. There are many shipwrecks near the archipelago, including the famous Batavia. This history is widely known in Europe and is rarely known in the East. The
island is located 70 km west of the coastline of Geraldton and belongs to the A-level nature reserve, but unlike other places of sightseeing, the island is exclusively managed by the fisheries department. In addition to fishermen and tourists (visitors must return on the same day), others are not allowed to enter the island privately, so the sea is pure and unspoiled.
The lobster industry on the island and its prosperity, many Australian lobsters from the hotel are from the Abu Rojos. China is currently the most important market for lobsters in the Abollas Islands. In addition to lobsters, the Abu Rojos are also rich in pearls. The world's most expensive black pearls are produced in eight different locations in the archipelago, so Black Pearl is also one of Geraldton's famous specialties.
How to get to the Abu Rojos Islands: The island is not far from the west side of Geraldton. If you are flying, you can see the islands in 10 minutes. My plane rental company in Geraldton booked a day trip to the Abu Rojos + Hutt lagoon, and took a small plane to the uninhabited island. The scenery was very good.
The whole island is in an undeveloped state. There are only fishermen on the island. It is said that some fishermen are still Italians, so they like to paint the house in various colors, adding a romance to the islands.
You can also see the devil's squid swimming in the shoal from time to time on the small plane, jumping with dolphins and sea lions lazy on the beach. It is because it is not open to tourists, so the ecological protection is so primitive.
The only island in the entire archipelago that is open to tourists is East China Lebi Island, which is the wallaby of the wallabies. The Australian people still really love their unique species.
In Australia, everyone can learn to fly a plane. Perth and Adelaide have related training bases. Some people have seen the words "rushing to the sky", probably knowing one or two. It is reported that many TVB fans in Hong Kong will come to Australia to test the plane and have fun.
Because the coral reef is shallow and has not been damaged, it is one of the most suitable snorkeling paradise in the world, comparable to the Great Barrier Reef. The sea water is clearer and cleaner than the Great Barrier Reef.
island is rich in flora and fauna due to its unique geographical environment. There are a variety of lizard mites, especially the rare animal Wallerby kangaroo (Wallaby, ultra-small kangaroo, only the special kangaroo species available on the island), white-bellied sea eagle, sea eagle owl and so on. On the island, you can see the sea eagle nest that you can see in the animal world.

Desert View Walk Trail
#gohiking
This walk is one around one of the main natural highlights of Western Australia. The many limestone pillars do seem just rise out of the landscape of yellow sand.
The map route is a vehicle track but you can really walk anywhere within the mapped route without getting lost. Its really fun to explore
The best time of year to visit is during Australia Winter time when the weather is not hot. Will definitely recommend to visit this site and remember to bring more water 😂
Nambung National Park
#australiatrip Amazing, almost alien-like landscape. I had wanted to visit the Namburg NP inclusive of The Pinnacles for some time. Driving time is around 2-hrs north of Perth. You have the option to do the 1.2kms Desert Walk and/or complete the 4kms loop in your car. I did both though it appears other visitors on the day viewed the Pinnacles mostly from their cars. There are a number of stopping points along the loop for those wanting to stop and admire the views. Entry fee to the NP is $15.00 per vehicle though concessions are also available. A good half-day visit. Arrive early to avoid the crowds. Highly recommend.

Site hard & on a slight slope. Quite wide with large concrete pad. Amenities were excellent. Pool was very cold - would be great in summer.
5 min walk to Wave Rock & free entry as guest. Also free entry to the Resort & facilities incl salt pool.
Salt pool was also good - still being finished but great soak & float. Very cold but warm in the middle.
Easy drive out to the Humps.

Waves and rocks, timeless beauty.
Wave Rock is one of the top ten geological wonders in the world. This huge rock, about 110 meters long and 15 meters high, stands in a forest. It has to be said that nature has bestowed too many amazing masterpieces on Western Australia. As its name suggests, Wave Rock looks like a wave that has been frozen in time, with varying depths of lines on its surface, making this giant rock look even more vivid.
Regarding the formation of the Wave Rock, it is said that it was formed about 2.5 billion years ago. The long-term erosion caused by wind and rain, as well as the sudden changes in temperature between day and night, gradually eroded this huge granite rock into the shape of waves. The colored lines on the Wave Rock are formed by the chemical reaction caused by the rainwater washing away the surface chemical substances while producing chemical reactions.
Afternoon is the best time to shoot the Wave Rock, when the various colors and lines of the Wave Rock are the most vivid of the day, and you can clearly see the black, brown, gray, red, and tan stripes.
Near the Wave Rock, there is another special rock called Hippos Yawn, which is a hollow rock named after its shape resembling a yawning hippopotamus. However, compared to the Wave Rock, there are not many tourists coming here, and this rock is rarely mentioned.
📮[Travel Tips]
▪️The Wave Rock can be climbed to the top by following the walking path along the side to experience conquering the giant waves.
▪️The admission fee for the Blowhole is charged per car, with a rate of 12 AUD per regular private car.
