Gurudwara Sri Bangla Sahib

#2024wish Gurudwara Sri Bangla Sahib is one of the most prominent Sikh gurdwaras in Delhi, India. It is located near Connaught Place in the heart of the city and is known for its historical and religious significance. The gurdwara is dedicated to Guru Har Krishan Sahib, the eighth Sikh Guru, who resided at the site during his stay in Delhi. The name "Bangla Sahib" refers to the bungalow that once stood on the site where Guru Har Krishan Sahib stayed. Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is a place of worship and pilgrimage for Sikhs and people of other faiths alike. It features a serene Sarovar (pond) inside its premises, known as the "Sarovar Sahib," where devotees take part in the ritual of 'Sarovar Seva' (voluntary service of cleaning the sacred pool). The gurdwara also operates a langar (community kitchen) that serves free meals to visitors regardless of their background, caste, or religion. This tradition of serving langar exemplifies the principles of equality, community service, and compassion that are central to Sikhism.
