Wonderful Palembang City, Indonesia

Palembang is one of the oldest cities in Indonesia, which has been around since the Srivijaya Kingdom. Palembang is famous for the Ampera Bridge that stretches over the Musi River, as well as its special food, namely pempek. The city of Palembang got the nickname as the Venice city of the East. This nickname is pinned by the western world, this is none other than the Musi river that flows around the city. This view or situation is like the city of Venice. Unfortunately the buildings on the banks of the river are poorly maintained, in contrast to Venice which is neatly arranged and becomes a tourist attraction. Ampera Bridge is the only bridge that can be lifted in Indonesia by splitting the bridge into two. The bridge that connects the two regions is still operating today. Although it is rarely lifted, the Ampera bridge is still actively crossed by vehicles. At first the bridge was lifted so that passing ships would not get stuck in the body of the bridge. However, since 1970, the Ampera bridge has no longer been lifted because it is considered disturbing the traffic on it.
