Hierapolis Ancient Theatre

#bucketlistreboot Hierapolis Ancient Theatre located 20190 Pamukkale/Denizli Turkey in the town Pamukkale not far walk from the thermal pool. The theatre was built in the second century AD under the Roman Emperor Hadrian. The auditorium of the theater of Hierapolis included forty five rows of seats that can accommodate 12000 spectators. Limestone for architectural details and marble for decoration are the two type of materials have been used in the construction of the roman theatre in Hierapolis. Hierapolis was rebuilt during the reign of the Roman emperor Tiberius in approximately AD 14-37 and survived until 1334, when it was abandoned after an earthquake.
