Walking alone in this thousand-year-old temple, I converse with history and share snapshots with everyone via my phone. Zen is the ultimate stillness in motion, and the ultimate motion in stillness. Silent yet always illuminating, illuminating yet always silent, motion and stillness are one. It delves directly into the origin of life... The serene contemplation and the leaping vitality constitute the duality of art, and also the mental state of 'Zen'. Although these sculptures in Shuanglin Temple are locked behind layers of fences, the centuries-old faith and vitality, the grace and spirit that endure through the changes of time, continue to persist unceasingly.
