The Pujiang Museum is a local comprehensive museum that centers around the Zhang Family Ancestral Hall, a Zhejiang provincial-level cultural heritage site, and is surrounded by newly constructed modern buildings. The new architecture adopts a traditional symmetrical east-west layout, encircling the Zhang Family Ancestral Hall in a '口' shape, connected in the middle by towering crossbeams, preserving the fine craftsmanship of the original ancient building while adding the grandeur of modern architecture. For some reason, apart from the 'Women Flower - Zhou Fangfang Art Exhibition' being held in the Zhang Family Ancestral Hall, it seemed that all the other exhibition halls in the Pujiang Museum were not open that day. Of course, it could also be that I just couldn't find the way in. The Zhang Family Ancestral Hall was originally a family temple built during the Southern Song Dynasty. It was expanded into the Zhang Family Ancestral Hall in the 45th year of the Jiajing era of the Ming Dynasty (1566), continued in the 14th year of the Wanli era (1580), and finally completed in the 22nd year of the Wanli era (1588), taking a total of 23 years. The existing building was rebuilt during the Guangxu era and is a typical Qing-style structure. The central axis is sequentially composed of the entrance hall, middle hall, pass-through hall, worship hall, and sleeping hall, forming a '吉' shaped layout with the side rooms, covering an area of 1220 square meters. The entire building is structurally rigorous, with standardized materials and exquisite carvings. 'I have a flower, planted in my heart.' Flowers represent women, and women are like flowers. The 'Women Flower - Zhou Fangfang Art Exhibition' was scheduled from March 8 to April 8, 2024, but it had not been taken down by April 20. The exhibition features over 100 paintings and more than 20 porcelain works by Zhou Fangfang. Pujiang is a famous hometown of calligraphy and painting in China, with many masters gathered, and Zhou Fangfang is an outstanding female painter who emerged from Pujiang.
