The Putra Mosque in Federal Territory Putrajaya

#localescapes The Putra mosque, situated next to the Malaysian Prime Minister's office, is the principal mosque in Putrajaya. Constructed in Year 1997 and completed 2 years later, this mosque serves as the main place of worship in the political administration territory. Named after the first Prime Minister, Almarhum Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al Haj (the federal territory Putrajaya also named after him), this mosque intergrates the Arab Islamic architectural designs with local craftmanship inspired by Muslim Persia. The 116 meter minaret is one of the tallest in the region. With a size that can accomodate 15000 worshippers at one time, it is definitely one of the largest masterpiece within that area.
