Captured here by @khanjipeerwala. 📍Changbei Town, Wulong District, Chongqing, China 🇨🇳 The canal is 1 meter wide and runs miles, wrapping around the mountain like a jade belt. Built in 1997, it aimed to generate hydroelectric power for Chiqing Yan Station. About 56 villagers would work on the canal daily and they took three years to complete the construction by hand. In some areas, villagers had to tie a rope on their waist and hung themselves on the cliffside. The canal has been temporarily closed for visiting. The village has been working on tourism development and will open to visitors soon!
