| A complete appreciation of Chinese ceramics through the ages. The Shanghai Museum Ancient Chinese Ceramic Gallery is one of the most characteristic exhibition halls of the museum. Within a display area of 1300 square meters, it houses more than 500 pieces of exquisite ceramics ranging from the Neolithic to the Qing Dynasty. Here, you can find painted pottery and grey pottery from the Neolithic period, celadon from the Shang, Zhou, Spring and Autumn, and Warring States periods, Eastern Han celadon, Tang tri-color pottery, and ceramics with green, white, black glazes and painted porcelain that span the Song, Jin, and Liao dynasties. There are also porcelain pieces from the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, each one exquisitely unparalleled, leaving visitors in awe. The exhibition fully showcases the fine ceramics of China's dynasties and perfectly interprets the developmental history of Chinese ceramics.
