🚘 On the fourth day of the year, Cangqiao Straight Street is bustling with excitement, with 1.5 kilometers of the street lined with old buildings from the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China. 🧩 What sets this street apart from other ancient towns is that the houses back onto the river, with their main entrances facing the old street. The street is full of the scent of daily life and a strong commercial atmosphere. Each household is a different shop, and if you don't turn to the back of the houses along the street, you might not even realize that this is also a charming Jiangnan town with small bridges over flowing water. 🧩 There are plenty of special snacks on the street, including yellow wine coffee, yellow wine milk tea, yellow wine ice pops, 'Shi Wan Tou', Muli tofu, drunken crab, steamed 'San Chou', fennel beans, and Jiangnan rice cakes. The stinky tofu stall has a long queue, just like in other ancient towns. 🧩 If you have time, you can take a ride on a black-awning boat to enjoy the scenery from different angles and experience the charm of the residences in the Jiangnan water towns. A small boat costs 120 yuan and can seat up to three people. It's a bit pricey, but it's worth it for the fun, and there are many tourists in line. 🧩 There are many famous restaurants on the street that I really like, such as Xunbaoji and Kong Yiji, but unfortunately, they are so crowded that I didn't go to join the hustle and bustle. 🧩 Wandering around the street, eating and drinking, two hours passed by without realizing it. It was quite an experience of the local customs and everyone was very happy.
