Hindu Art Temple

#bucketlistreboot Banteay Srei is a 10th century temple built to dedicate the hindu god Shiva. It is around 33 kilometers 48 minutes drive from the ticket pass office. The triangular shaped tympanums above each doorway present iconic images of goddesses and gods. Each of the tympanum telling us a Hindu mythology, like for example Abduction of Sita, Hayagriva killing Madhu and Kaitabh, many many more. Decorative motifs include the kala, the guardian dvarapala and devata seem to cover almost every available surface The temple is well known for the beauty of its sandstone lintels and pediments bringing the whole scenes of mythology and many of the cravings are three-domensional.
