Wallace Falls Hiking Guide – Seattle’s Scenic Trail 🏔️💦

#holidayitinerary Just an hour from Seattle, Wallace Falls State Park is one of the best day hikes around! The Woody Trail is rated moderate, stretching 4.9 miles roundtrip with about 1,500 ft elevation gain. There are three main viewpoints—Lower, Middle, and Upper Falls. We stopped at the Middle Falls, which many say is the best value spot: stunning waterfall views without the steep final climb. It took us around 2 hours. The trail is shaded almost the entire way (except the short dirt road at the start), making it cool and comfortable even in summer. Several sections run alongside the river, with spots to climb down and play by the water ⛲️. Around 1.5 miles in, there’s even a restroom detour—super convenient! At the Lower Falls, you’ll find picnic tables and a shelter, perfect for lunch with a view.
