The leisure of Mudu Ancient Town

Taking a taxi from Suzhou city center to Mudu Ancient Town takes about twenty minutes. Since we didn't plan ahead, the driver dropped us off in front of an archway, which actually isn't the entrance to the ancient town. After wandering aimlessly for a while, we encountered a professional coachman who, for 50 yuan, could take us to various scenic spots in the ancient town for two hours, which indeed saved us a lot of walking. We visited several gardens in the ancient town, which were almost devoid of tourists, including the former residence of Feng Guifen, but they exuded a quaint and natural charm. In a small tavern in the ancient town, we tasted the owner's authentic sweet osmanthus rice wine, and the slightly tipsy feeling was delightful.
