The livable studio

The relationship with @thelivablestudio began at the open house in 2020. There are various bird specimens, plant metalwork and digital art creations in the compact space. I just remember that I stayed there for a long time, and I still felt unfinished when I left. After learning that they were going to hold a Soft Re-opening at their new home last month, I immediately made an appointment with my friends to go there together. As a home and studio, Habitat is not divided into several pieces by walls. Sunlight roams freely indoors and is imprinted on the surface of objects. We walked around several times, our eyes intersecting and diverging along the huge field, just to get a glimpse of the corners and details created by the hands of the managers Rong and Lu. After everyone arrived, Rong invited us to sit around the outside of the arch and explained the story of brick making to us in detail. For example, the salmon-colored ceramic tiles under our feet were fired through constant experimentation to match the original old tiles of the house. As for the pottery kiln, it is placed in a room with an antique wooden door ajar and can be seen as soon as you enter. I was very happy to take advantage of this opening exhibition to exchange some interesting thoughts and ideas with Rong and Lu. It’s great to meet interesting souls every time you visit! The exhibition is only open this weekend, so those who want to go remember to make a reservation in advance :)
